The more I think about it the more I just want them to play Kadri on the first line. Both he and Kessel have upped their defensive game. A good summer in the gym and I think he might be ready to take the next step. Gotta be better on the draw but you can fix that! - steve362
Is Kadri going to do the Gary Robert training program this summer? |

Assets: Keeps the game simple on most nights and has exemplary team skills. Blocks shots and is most effective in penalty-killing situations. Can shut forwards down.
Flaws: Doesn't own ideal puck-moving skills for the blueline position and has limited talent, overall. Struggles when handling the puck, especially when he plays on the right side.
Career Potential: Savvy veteran defensive defenseman.
Any guesses on who this is? This is who we need! - steve362

What if the Leafs are thinking:
JVR Kadri Kessel
Lupul Bolland Clarkson/Clowe
Carter/D'Amigo Colborne Kulemin
McLaren McClement Orr
Is that an improvement? A playoff team again? A step back? - gravyface
Way back, I'd like to run that lineup in two years and get McJesus. |

Missing Clarkson.

That was the talk, but who knows. Would cost us a fair bit I'd think, maybe a Gardiner. |

I gotta say, this is kind of a fun game.
Scuderi, Hainsey, and Ference are the only three names on D really being tossed around, so it was a lucky guess. |

Assets: Has excellent mobility, size and reach. Can play on either side of the ice. Displays some offensive ability. Is capable of logging a ton of minutes, if required.
Flaws: Is far too soft for his big frame. Can go through rough stretches in all elements of the game over the course of the season. Is also somewhat brittle and inconsistent.
Career Potential: Inconsistent all-round defenseman
Mike Komisarek anyone? - steve362
Uhhh
Well, you just shot yourself in the foot. Komisarek was quite physical in Montreal, and in Toronto for his first years. Mike just... idk, I feel Wilson ruined him. He had so much going for him. Look at Beauch, got traded, was a stud again with the right coach in the right role. He was a top pairing Defenseman, and it's a damn shame he still isn't here. But Lupul and Gardiner came from that, so it's not quite that bad.
...anyways, Hainsey is a more physical Gunnerson whose used to playing 20+ minutes a night and doesn't seem to get slowed up by lack of endurance. Sure, he won't just throw hits like Schenn did, but he'll take the body when appropriate. And he'd match Phaneuf well. Or Gardiner, pending on the roster situation. |

How much far off is that with what we rolled with this year?
Better on the wing, I'd say a wash up the middle, better in net, a wash on defense... that got us within a whiff of the second round. |

very fair deal IMO if both Holmey & NoniZ agreed to it. I doubt it Chances are that either Holmey or NoniZ would think they deserve more. |

I'd guess Philly would have to sweeten the deal a bit, or consider B.Schenn. |
