That may be true, but unfortunately he isn't nearly as fantastic as what he and his agent think.
Seriously, do you really not think that asking for 8 years smacks of ego run amok and sense of entitlement? - Atomic Wedgie
I think he's trying to say that if we want to sign him to a discount, we can commit to him, too.
It's not a bad strategy. He comes in at 4.75 for 8 years, probably thinking he'll get around 4 mil for 6. |

Most of us like him as a 3rd line center.
HH likes him as a #1 center for the next 5 years.
So to answer your question, it was HH in the library with the candlestick - Sheppy99

Your opinion was "I'm pretty sure the AHL has development on their website"? - honesthockey
My opinion was that the ahl is a developmental league. Clearly you were mocking that opinion.
Having respect for people's opinions is important. A fairly brash, over the top arrogant poster who doesn't respect anyone's opinion unless its equal to his once taught me that.

We've had 1 count em 1 player that really spent time in the AHL and can make an impact in the NHL and I'm not convinced he wouldn't be further ahead if he was in the NHL earlier. - honesthockey
I"m wondering if this is actually correct (scary if it is).
You are obviously referring to Kadri.
Franson spent a couple of years in the A.
Two years for McClement.
Wow, you are right.
Scary. |

No you stated what the website said. That's not your opinion. If you would have said your opinion was that the AHL is a development league I would have countered.

I get it LM I'm just not convinced it's a great tool. It's a holding tank. And teams make room for good players so that they don't spend long in the holding tank. - honesthockey
Seriously, would you prefer that your young talented players play 4-5 minutes in bottom 6 in the (Any) European Elite league or getting top minutes in a professional league like the AHL.
I know your opinion on the AHL even I don'T understand it, but what do you Honestlyhockey think that's better for young players development. |

Meh, he knew prospects pretty well, individual player analysis wasn't bad.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that he knew Tyler bozak was a bum.. |

I can't on the Bozak file, Lou.
I've come too far.
It's personal.
For the next 19 hours, it is my responsibility to make Leafs Nation understand why we can't sign this guy.
I take my role very seriously. |

Bozak?
Kadri, Reimer, Frattin, Franson, Lupul, MacArthur, Gardiner, Fraser, McClemment... etc.. all played significant time in the AHL.

Sorry folks, but HH is right on this one.
Go to Hockeydb and take a look at last year's roster.
The idea of a guy going to the A for 3-5 years and honing his craft just doesn't happen.
If you spend more than a year there, you aren't going to be top line material.
More than two years?
Not going above 3rd liner. |

Leafs should grab Asham off waivers.
Only 1 year a 1mil.
I thought Sequin was the next Ken Hodge Jr.
Turns out he more Ron DuGay ish.
Thank you Tyler! Thank you Tyler! |

Nope.
Reimer didn't play much.
Franson - sorta
Lupul - only because he was young and it was a lockout year.
MacArthur - what'evs
Gardiner - 1/2 year due to injury
Fraser - so what?
McClement - OK, 2 years. He's a 3rd liner.
That's a pretty weak sauce when you spread it over a 23-man roster. |
