give me grabobski, weiss or ribeiro to play #2 C, dont care who - Jurco_28
I was still hoping for Grabo as the Leafs #2. I just don't see anyone that Leafs can get that will be an upgrade. If anything most of the available free agents are a wash, and will likely cost more... Weise or Rebierro (can't spell their names) are IMO lateral moves from Grabo, and will likely be asking for same or bigger contracts.
Any of the other GM's that were eyeing those 2, are now likely going hard after Grabo hoping he will take a smaller salary because of the $$$ Toronto will be paying him.
Edit: Maybe this is a move planned by NBC so Grabo can sign in DET and there will some controversy the big outdoor game in Jan. |

Welcome to the real world... Grabovski is bought-out-ski... boom!
In other news, it appears the leafs did win the Kessel trade after all! Wooo!!! Leafs win! Leafs win! Leafs win the Stanley Cu....... oh wait.... - Hockey_Reverend

I would take him over Seguin any day of the week. - LeafMan
I wouldn't. It's a nice return for Boston, but there's only one player in that trade that has franchise player potential, and its not eriksson. |

I'd probably be looking to trade him because I assume he'd have good value at 3 mil. And he still doesn't really fit here.
But, yeah, if he weren't making so much, we probably would have given him a shot to bounce back this year. - Leeman4Gilmour
it will be interesting to see what some of these #2 Cs get. |

I'd rather have stastny over ribero...... but that's just me and with 1 year left on his contract, you can't tell me it would take that much to get him. - Sheppy99
Especially with MacKinnon now in Colorado. |

Joe Morrow is believed to be one of the pieces going from DAL to BOS. Also, perhaps Reilly Smith and Matt Fraser. Looking for confirmation. |

No doubt, and sounds like they get some prospects too.
Dallas is paying a lot for potential they may never get. - burn
And taking on 1.5 million more in salary.
Can't believe Seguin makes nearly 6 million. |

Don't count your chickens just yet, Bozak hasn't signed with the Leafs either. And we'll see how Grabo does with his new team before making snap judgements. |

Grabovski can do what the (frank) he likes elsewhere. Elsewhere isn't the Toronto Maple Leafs. We get way to caught up in what players do on other teams. Who cares.

Don't be fooled into thinking seguin won't be a great player in this league, just because Boston misused him.

I agree with you there... and I was really hard on grabo last year. But i don't see how this makes sense unless the cap space is going to be used this year. and i hope its not on clarkson at 6 mill or bozak at 5.
If its about having to resign kessel, kadri, dion etc, you have this year to sort that out. While keeping grabo on the team, either his value rises and he's tradable, or if not you can buy him out after the season if he flops. and still have the cap space available to sign the other guys.
Hoping nonis has something nice in the works... maybe he makes a move for louie erikson? oh wait |
