no it doesn't make sense. Keep Grabo for the year then, and if he bounces back you can trade him, or you compliance buyout next year.

This has nothing to do with possible extensions next year...

- Big_Lightnin

Perhaps he feels he needs to get Bozak under in order to keep Kessel happy

I believe Nonis said it was, "cap flexibility going forward" implies that.

Nah, Kessel was a contract issue.

So is Seguin, he is now a bad contract issue.

Grabo was bought out for today ....err tomorrow technically. To ensure he can re-sign all his RFA's and get the pieces he's after in UFA / Trade.

Let's hope he announces a Kessel extension this summer as well.

not really a good example - Kessel wouldn't sign in Boston. Seguin's got a 6 yr deal.

but not arguing with you

Don't think so. Cap space going forward implies anything today forward, not specifically next summer.

Especially when all of those extensions can be covered without really having to flinch whatsoever.

Wow this is pretty huge.

I can't imagine that this move was done just to sign Bozak. If so, Bozak would have been signed first.

This is a sign of things to come. A huge trade or maybe Clarkson. Gonna be a real interesting few days.
