Nonis says of Grabovski buyout in statement: "This is a roster move that will give us salary cap flexibility moving forward."
This might mean they will not use it on this year but leave a cushion for next year, - LeafMan
Then why not do it next year? They can still use the compliance buyout. Plus if they aren't going to operate at full cap this year then why compliance buyout Komi when you could have just taken the $1.5mil cap hit and you'd still have another one to buyout Liles if need be.
Nah...something is weird here. Either he's going to massively dip into free agency and he's already basically finalized some deals so he had to free up cap space to fit them under the cap or he has a trade lined up, possibly with a team that is going to need to drop some salary after they complete a signing. |

Huge trade in the works. Boston and Dallas close on a deal sending Tyler Seguin to Stars for Loui Eriksson. Other parts involved as well.

Just a hunch, Hartnell possibly available now? Move JVR to center Hartnell on the wing.
Probably cost us Gardiner, Hartnell signed until 2018/19 $4.75m
Thoughts? or out to lunch |
