Hal Gill and Greg Zanon placed on unconditional waivers as well today likely for buyout purposes. All players cleared from yesterday.

veteran d-man, i like gill alot. wouldn't shy away from blum or j.schultz too.

Grabo yes. Bozak no. Weiss maybe if we're moving Gagner.
- Jack-artist

Signing Weiss after moving Gagner makes almost no sense. Keep both and RNH and see how good this team really is when they can actually roll 3 GOOD lines.

Bergeron, Krecji, Seguin, Peverley, Kelly, Marchand, Campbell; Toews, Kane/Sharp, Kreuger, Bolland, Handzeus, Frolik, etc.....Center depth wins championships, you guys have very little of it.

To play devil's advocate, Kelly, Marchand and Campbell are all muckers/pests. With Gagner Nuge and RNH you're getting three very similar skillsets down the middle. Bergeron and Krejci are also better in that regard. I feel like adding a centre (or numerous centres is key), but that Weiss may not be the one that makes us more multifaceted.

n.schultz or j.schultz x 2?

don't care for gilbert or ballard. rather have scuderi, but getting him will be tough.

That's where I think Bolland would've been a good acquisition.

I am actually a fan of grabbing Mueller to play 2 or 3C or shift to the wing.

I would also call about Grabovski.

Oil would be silly to not kick tires on Grabo, Bozak, or Weiss. I could definitely see Weiss here.

Great 2-way player, tons of speed to keep up with young kids, great mentor. If I'm spending 5 mill on someone, it's Weiss or Ribiero. Oil definitely need Weiss more than they need a dumb downed version of what RNH will hopefully eventually be.

I would like Grabo...

I bet Yaks pots in 30 this year... ESP if he and Hall unite on the top line... if we had a bulky Nuge that (frank)ing line would be the best in the league...

We would be adding the best 2-way center on the market IMO. Grabo and Bozak are both good defensively, but their not Weiss. You can still sign a guy like Lapierre to give you that look on the 4th line as well.

I would actually kick tires on Peverley who is available first before I tried signing anyone. Guy can play anywhere in the line-up. Didn't take an insane amount of draws but was 58% on 350+ in regular season and was over 60% during playoffs while taking 4th most draws.

Having him on the third line is also cheaper than any of the FA options and allows you to chase Clowe hard.

Hall-RNH-Yakupov
Paajarvi-Gagner-Eberle
Clowe-Peverley-Jones (resigned)

Even if all we did was resign Jones after that, that is one hell of a top 9

Hearing that Claude Giroux and the Flyers are close to agreeing to an 8-yr deal worth north of $8 M a year...

Ummm, I think the world of Giroux as a player but ummmmm that's a big cap hit

That's over Stamkos and just under Crosby. Is he really in that category of the elite? I'd say pretty damn close that's for sure. I would've pegged him at 6.5 to 7 (taking into account 8 years) myself, but I guess being young still has potential to get to the elite.

I think if Nuge can hit 195 in a year or two that would be ideal.

Lots of people forget that weight gaining is 80% diet. So although he is rehabbing that shoulder, he can still add some weight. As long as he is stuffing his effin face

Why dont we just trade for Big Buff??? He is exactly what we want... and for some strange reason Winnipeg keeps leaking BS that they would entertain trading him...

Those dumb (frank)ing flyers - can never learn... That owner must be a) stupid and b)filthy (frank)ing rich

The NHL owners should maybe hang out with some NFL owners to learn how to sign players and manage a Cap...

That's original. Howson was the person who liked Hemsky, and he's gone. Jarmo has been pretty clear that he'd prefer a power forward type.

Dregger said its about to be 8.3m

E. Staal and Getzlaf make 8.25, perfectly fine with me.

I wouldn't of cared if Giroux wanted 10 million. You build your team around your best player. Obviously Giroux wasn't getting 10 million, but you see my point.

This is a contract where absolutely NO ONE can say "WOW HE GOT OVERPAID, ANOTHER TERRIBLE PHILLY DEAL".....

....he is our BEST player, and 29 other teams woulda paid the same amount if its what kept him happy. He is already an elite player.

Could be worse could be like Cloutier and (frank) up Stauffers tweet

Bob Stauffer ‏@Bob_Stauffer 11h
When it is all said and done IMO the #Oilers will have minimum 7 new players on roster for start of regular season (4 FWD-2D-1G)...

Bob Stauffer ‏@Bob_Stauffer 10h
...The "New" players will consist of: a top 6 LW, 3rd lne C, 3 line RW, 4th line W, Top 4 left shot D, Belov...and a goaltender

Somehow Clouts gets we are going after 2 4th line wingers from the tweet. Misses that simply fact that Below is one of the 7.

1. 2nd line LW
2. 3rd line RW
3. 3rd line C
4 + 5. 4th line wingers
6. Top 4 Left Shot defenseman
7. Goaltender (backup or starter)

- Lahey

Nobody accused Cloutier of being smart

Maybe Nuge can be like Ovie and fill two positions on a team: 1st and 2nd line centre
