Personally, I think Stauffer's blog is all hype, just like the draft. Edm is not the hot place to go right now. Columbus and T.O. are the new go-to destinations. Feaster (ugh) is the guy doing all the changes, making MacT look bad. If we are changing players, it will be small changes. I'm dying to be wrong here, but there is just no buzz about Oil Change around the league right now, except out of Edmonton. |

Sign Colby Armstrong if you want, I really believe that either Smyth or Brown would win that position battle out of training camp.

This blog has so much fail written in it.
None of this shiat is going to happen. Wishing hard enough won't make it happen. Writing about it over and over and over again won't make it happen.
I don't even think it can be considered entertainment anymore when it gets this pathetic. |

Richard:
Why would the Oilers want Clowe and Armstrong? If you had watched a lot of hockey lately you would realize Clowe can't skate and Armstrong doesn't really hit people anymore which makes him completely useless. Did you happen to notice how much San Jose improved when they traded away Clowe and his fellow tortoise, Douglas Murray. - ciderhouse

No, I seen enough of Armstrong over the years to know we should avoid him. Living on the east coast I get to hear what his last 2 teams fans think of him as well. I really don't know where Clout's comes up with this stuff!?!?!
I do agree that Brown would win that spot in a heart beat. |

Colby Armstrong - 4th line RW - He hits, therefore, he's useful.
Colby Armstrong does not hit. If he did, Montreal would have made some effort to resign him. |

People that pay attention to hockey know this, Clout's for some reason decides to write about players the Oilers should and shouldn't acquire without any knowledge about those players or hockey in general. |

Going forward with this would be a drastic improvement. I believe its attainable, anyway. I also dont want Horcoff gone. Hes an older Bozak with a prettier face.
Hemsky for a servicable RW or Center (Smith) if we HAVE to buy out Scorcoff.
Sign that americano bandaid, Peter Mueller.
Ryan Clowe @ 4.5 for 4 / Ryan N.-Hopkins 3.775/ Jordan Eberle 6
Ovechkin #2- 6 / Sam Gagner @ 4.5 for 5 with NTC / Nail Yakupov 3.775
PRV 2 / Horcoff 1 Billion rexall dollars / Peter Mueller @ 2.25 for 2/3 years
Matt Cooke 2.5 / Maxim Lapierre 1.5 / Mike Brown 0.737
Ryan Smyth 2.25 / Anton Lander .9
D men:
Ron Hainsey @ 4 million for 3/4 years / Justin Schultz 3.5775
Ladislav Smid 3.5 / Jeff Petry 1.75
Anton Belov 1.525 / Tom Gilbert 2
POTTA or Marincin (Marincin is totally making da squad. Calling it
Goal:
Devan Dubnyk 3.5

That's original. Howson was the person who liked Hemsky, and he's gone. Jarmo has been pretty clear that he'd prefer a power forward type. - Jimmys7
I just read on the TSN app that Jarmo liked the smaller skilled guys. It was a neat article, that says basically the opposite of what you're saying. |

So Matt Cooke is going to the open market and will take a pay cut to join the Oilers??
In all honesty, I don' t see any of those players going to EDM.
What I do see, is Bryzgalof going to the Oilers and Carlo Colaiacovo. I would even say MacArthur too.
I have said this a million times... you want a big name going to EDM, trade one of your so-called wonderstuds. Put one of Eberle, Hall, JNH or Yakopov on the trading block and I'll GUARANTEE you will get a real player in return. Even Gagner could get you something decent.
Stop mentioning Horcoff, Hemsky, Smid, Omark... blah blah blah... No one wants these guys!! If there was a market for these guys it would have happened already.
Final prediction - Horcoff will get bought out. Hemsky will be traded for draft picks or packaged with another player.

You've subtracted a Schultz. Put him in Belov or Gilbert's spot. Better yet, pair him with Ference

So you're suggesting that Cloutier would be MORE novel if he pitched a trade involving, say Gagner or Paajarvi?
- Morris
MPS hasn't done much either:
NHL TOTALS GP163 G26 A32 P58 -21
Every team wants to get better NOW they don't want to spend their assets or money on a PONTENTIALLY good player.
Like I said, Gagner could fetch something because of the need for experienced centremen. |
