More like B. Schenn, Coburn, 1st rounder and a pretty good prospect.
- PhillySportsGuy

That actually hurts the Flyers more than helps. That's what you'd expect to give up for Pietro or Weber (before the O.S.).

Still a chance for an offer sheet on pietrangelo. Probably won't get him if we did but its worth a shot IMO since we have a team as is we can roll with.

I would be sad if schenn was traded. I love his game.

I'd rather see coots go. He's too slow for lavy's system IMO.

- moylander

couts just needs to improve his 1st few strides. after that, he's ok. remember, richards took a quantum leap in his 4th season and both schenn and couts are in yr 3. this could be the yr for either one of them, but for bogo, i'd trade either one of them.

Just My opinion... fire away guys!
i think Homer needs to trade Read now while his value is high. Theres absolutely no way the Flyers will be able to resign him next season unless the cap goes up 5+M. Even then idk if that gets it done. I think they should trade Read for Halak. If St Louis wants a prospect or pick not named Schenn, Couturier, Laughton, Gustaffson, Morin, Ghost or and 1st round pick, then give them it.

I would really, really, realy like to keep Couturier. Unfortunately, we have to face the facts... Vinny will be our best FO man for the next 5 years... it doesnt make much sense to move him to wing now does it? Couturier IMO can play 2nd line C RIGHT now. You cant tell me he wants to be a 3rd line center for the next 3+ years, can you? I mean Joe Pavelski has done it, i cant believe he's last that long, guys a top center on some teams.

What i would do: Trade Read for Halak. Resign Gagne for 2M. Thats all. Honestly. Go into the season with this as our roster:
Harts-G-Jake
Schenn-Vinny-Simms
Gagne-Couts-Akeson
Talbot-Laughton-Rinaldo
Rosehill

Kimmo-Schenn
Streit-Coburn
Mezzy-Grossmann
Gus

Halak
Mason

here's the capgeek of it. Gervais was sent down. If he gets claimed, whoop de (frank)ing do. We got depth.

Simon Gagne ($2.000m) / Sean Couturier ($1.375m) / Jason Akeson ($0.900m)

Thats what it would cost. The Jets have no intention of trading him, so they would have to win the trade in order for them to accept it

then bye, bye schenn

seriously Bill, i assess Bogo as a star about to emerge, making him pretty much untouchable. do you agree?

- isaiah520

Definitely agree. He's come a long way defensively and is now a reliably good defender. Hasn't produced as much offense as hoped but that potential is still there, too.

Happy 4th of July, USA! Tomorrow, things with get "crazy" with the Flyers, according to Holmgren. As if it weren't already.

Correct. Holmgren said it was going to get crazy just before the draft.

It's nothing new if you're a Flyers fan. It's been crazy since Holmgren's been GM.

Agree. Throw a 7 year $56M offer at him and make STL match which they likely will but worth a shot.

But seriously do it, I think they can on July 5th

i took it as him implying it would be crazy league wide with the buyouts etc

i do not think he was implying he was going to act crazy

but of course tim is twisting it into a tweet meant to freak out the fans

That's because all you care for is a player's offensive game when it's Coot's two-way game that makes him such a special player.

Hartnell - Giroux - Voracek
Simmonds - LeCavelier - Schenn
Read - Couturier - _____
Rinaldo - Talbot - Rosehill

Coburn - Streit
Timonen - Schenn
Grossman - Mez

Mason
_______

If the Flyers were to add Tim Thomas to this roster and a veteran winger to play with Couturier and Read... I think I would be okay with this roster. A lot of young players who can grow this year in important roles on the team. I'd probably trade Mez just to shed the salary but I think Streit will have an impact for the first couple years of his deal. The more I look at how the roster is shaping up... the more I like it. I can't remember the last time we had so many young up and coming players to watch develop their game... Giroux, voracek, schenn, simmonds, read, couturier, Schenn...

We'd either give Coots or BSchenn for Kane so pick your poison. I'd wholeheartedly give BSchenn + whatever nonroster pieces necessary to get Kane, but that's just me.

I like Couturier but definitely think he's overrated on this site at least. I see him as a Keith Primeau with maybe a bit more offensive upside but not quite as good defensively. Primeau was an All Star scoring single digit goals one season so I'm not trying to slight Couturier's defensive ability there.

I fixed this for you. Seeing as Read will probably be traded at some point this offseason, the 3rd line will hopefully look like Gagne/Couturier/Talbot. Solid, underrated two-way line.
