I think Hall's signing all but seals the deal for Couterier.
Laughton is a center. Talbot can play wing but I think is better sited for 3rd line center. Schenn is better suited to play center. Couteriere is better suited as a center. Hall the same. Not enough natural wingers.

everyone cries about how detroit develops... you think they'd leave him in juniors or rush him?

why do we uave to rush someone just because they're panning out to be good?

They weigh it on several factors, one being, does sending an extra year in juniors benefit him more than playing in the NHL? Laughton doesn't have a lot to prove at the OHL level, so is it better for him to play 20+ a night in a league where he can dominate or to get 10-13 minutes a night in a league where he will have to learn and work his tail off to stick?

Exactly why I feel the Hall signing puts Cooter on the trade block for a dman. Just hopefully not Yandel, especially if they move Coburn.

I do love that they kept Adam Hall, but I wonder what it means for Laughton, Couturier, Talbot and Gagne in the 3rd/4th line roles.
- Jsaquella

Yep, too many players. I think, if no trades are made, Gags is gone. Talbot or Laughton on the 3rd and 4th as LW.

Harts/G/Vcheck
Schenn/Vinny/Simmonds
Laughton/Couterier/ Read
Talbot/Hall/Rinaldo/Rosehill

1st call up McGinn

Max is a winger regardless, now, even if Laughton goes back to Oshawa.

Doesn;t look great for Gags

Did they sign Razr? I'm not sure if there is a deal place or not.

If they sign Emery to a 3 year deal, will you be happy?
Their latest deals all seem about a year too long.
(not for Claude, I think he is a guy to lock up).

No word yet...they seem to be the leader for him, but who knows now?

I think Laughton gives them a way to replace Couturier if they need to make a trade

i wouldn't mid him back. was nice to see him turn it around after being humbled in russia. I just hope it's like a 2 yr deal worth 3 to 4 mil only. Mason could could little crazy if his back up makes more than him.

So far Homer has showed restraint holding on to his young centers and not giving in to trading Couts for less then fair value.

If he is really trading Couts I pray a true top pairing D man who is also under 26 yo is coming back.

But right now? You want Laughton as the 3rd line center starting day one of next year? NOT ME. That's why I would play some of the season and assess where the team is at then.

I'm concerned for Briere. They might make him a winger and the fans might rip him apart once they notice he doesn't play D.

I don't want them to trade Couturier, just saying it gives them an option if they decide to take that path.

If he is traded, we have to keep all sharp objects away from my brother

I love him and think he'll contend for a Selke someday, but imagine the amazing young Dman we could get for him and a couple minor assets? The sky is the limit for Dmen we could bring in.
