Emery will be good for 1-2 yrs splitting time with Mason. I really really believe in Mason and think he is going to be the goalie that he was / was supposed to be. Even though it was a small sample at the end of the season, he looked really promising. I think, hope, believe that he is our future.

Change of scenery can be good for the player.

There were a lot of factors involved. Couturier seemed to get frustrated and lost focus at some points. He had a lot of hard luck offensively, and that frustration seemed to leak into his overall game. Not to mention that the team overall was pretty bad defensively. It's amazing he did as well as he did defensively. Shows how talented and special he is in that area. There is no doubt that he has Selke level potential.

Can you please define the criteria you are using to determine how good he did defensively?

"The Boston Bruins and Dallas Stars have brought fireworks to the NHL on July 4."

"Boston and Dallas agreed to a seven-player trade Thursday, the teams announced. The Bruins will send forward Tyler Seguin, forward Rich Peverley and defenseman Ryan Button to the Stars for forward Loui Eriksson and three prospects (Joseph Morrow, Reilly Smith and Matt Fraser)."

Its a biggie...and i bet another is coming simply because of the cap dropping

I believe that with Mason, the talent and athletic ability is there without a shadow of a doubt. I think it's what was in his head, that he has to conquer. If he can do that, he can be a very good player. Hopefully.

I thought Emery signed/agreed to a deal with Chicago a few days ago. Anything change since then to make him looking at UFA status?

They're about six years too late and are only getting our sloppy seconds now...

I think its funny that they tried for Vinny and ended up with Briere. Polar opposites in terms of playing style.

Not sure. I hope not. TSN said that he had told teams he was poking for a 1 year deal. If that is the case, i would think that he And homer have a gentlemans agreement for 14/15.

He doesn't fit with the Flyers now or long term. As much as I like the guy, they don't have room for another center. He doesnt play well on the wing.

im still shocked the Bruins traded Seguin. Especially since theyre going to lose Jagr and Horton as well. Thats a lot of top 6 talent. They get Eriksson back but still.

Its about the language they speak. They play on that. I love Briere. Good luck to him.
