The Flyers can absolutely go into the Season without placing Pronger on LTIR. They may choose to do so, to make some more moves. But it's not a given that Pronger goes on LTIR. In fact it would be best for them not to use LTIR. Any idea why?

Sure they can...doubt they do. They still need a #1 goalie...and don't say they will use Mason...he is terrible.

Mason is terrible, that is why they wont.

That something else that is clearly just your opinion, and not a fact.

Love it. No goalie signed and the Flyers took no one back in that trade for Meszaros. Lucky you can manipulate the numbers like that...

You are assuming as much as I am...so step off the pulpit.

Never heard of trading a player for a draft pick, oilhorse? And I clearly stated that they have 4.3M, plus the option of putting Pronger on LTIR, to help obtain a Goalie.
I'm showing you how it can be done, and refuting everything you've stated.

There's a very good chance they avoid putting Pronger on LTIR. And I'll ask you again, why would they need to do that?

Guess you don't understand how to read stats.
He only played 7 games last year, hardly enough to judge by...

but those 4 years previously...hovering at a sub 0.9 save%...posting +3 GAA

Not Good MJM....Not Good at all.

None of that means that he can't be a #1 goalie going forward. Has a ton of talent and skill. Just needs to get his head on straight. He is still only 25.

No. I agreed it can be done. Said it many times, even in replies to you.

I have stated my opinion, just like you have stated your opinion, mine just shows how the cap future in Phi is not as bright as you think for this coming year.

They do not have 4.3. They need to trade Meszaros to get that. That is not at slam dunk they don't get a return player...or that they won't need to eat salary.

I'm showing you how it can have issues before being done, and refuting everything you've stated.

the past 4 years are showing he is not cut out for #1 duty. Be blind to it, but Mason is a back up, not a starter.

You haven't offered anything that shows that the Flyers cap is an issue. They're going to sign a Goalie. And a defenseman is going to be moved. And they've done all this without putting Pronger on LTIR. The Flyers are always going to be a team up against the Cap, by choice. You haven't refuted anything.

Players grow and evolve. They develop and mature. He has shown in the past that he can be a starter. It's clear that he has the talent and ability to be a starter. Just has to clear up some of the issues that have plagued him in the past. As I said, he is only 25 years old. That is still pretty young for a goalie. He may never get back to that level. Or he may put it all together, and find what he had in his rookie year again.

thing is, I could believe this if it was only a year or maybe 2 removed from the rookie season...it is now 4 years later...

They're not in the hole. Still have Cap space to work with. What happened to that 3+M for a Goalie you were talking about? Seems as though you've been incorrect on just about everything.

And yet, he's still only 25. That's young for a Goalie. Cory Schnieder who is just becoming a starter, is 27. Bernier, who the Leafs acquired, will be 25 in August.

But you do not need to LTIR Pronger...that is what MJM is saying...you will trade Meszaros for a draft pick.

So, best you look at your failed meme yourself.
