It doesn't look as though Ron Hainsey will be staying in Winnipeg. Does anyone else think he'd be a good partner for Justin Schultz?

I just dislike picking up that sloth Coburn. He's not worth PRV and Smid.. ever. He's an upgrad to smid but i think this looks better and it doesn't require us to weaken our organization. |

You can have Gilbert back... Major disappointment in a Wild sweater. King of the turnovers... I'm guessing his turnovers and terrible puck movement were single handedly the cause of at least 4 or 5 games lost for the Wild last season. |

Clouts , Yakuipov for rookie of the year ?? Really , non really , Really you're joking right ? the 3 that were named deserved it a lot more than him , Yakupov was playing with stars all year no wonder he had SIMILAR numbers as those nominated the one who should have won it hands down is Gallagher - toneez
WOW, your ignorance is showing, you clearly have no (frank)ing clue. |

Not exactly true.
Here's 5 on 5 % of TOI played with a given player.
Gallagher:
Pacioretty - 71.5%
Desharnais - 69.2%
Galchenyuk - 25.5%
Prust - 15.3%
Other - 18.5%
Yakupov bounced around a little more:
Gagner - 49.9%
Paajarvi - 26.6%
Hemsky - 25.4%
Horcoff - 21.1%
Other 77%
Note the 'other category of this section is quite large'. Lest you think that's where Hall, Eberle or Nuge are hiding, I did some more digging.
Players who had Yakupov among their top 10 linemates in terms of % of 5 on 5 TOI:
Jones - 28.4%
Nugent-Hopkins - 10.4%
Lander - 20.4%
VandeVelde - 27.9%
As you can see, that 77% hides lesser players than the ones that he played most of his time with, with the exception of a few Nuge minutes.
Case in point: Gallagher played with predominantly better linemates much more consistently. He also played just as much PP on a better powerplay than Yaks, and like Yaks had no SH time. |

The only moron is the Oilers for considering Bryz, Or possibly you. And the Flyers arent gonna trade Coburn for a worse dmen just to save 1 million in cap Space that's stupid and unnecessary if u bothered to read meltzer on the flyers cap. We could just easily eat half of Mezaros' contract then - FlyerAdam30

Interesting.
Its encouraging to consider just how much damage Yakupov could do with some consistent line mates. Do you have an opinion on what two players would compliment him best? (Oilers Roster players) |

I've been saying all year that Hall needs to play with Yakupov, and when they finally did play them together Yakupov was second only to Ovechkin in goals. Nuge and Eberle need to have a big power forward with them, Hall and Yakupov both play a fast paced crash and bang kind of game and I think they complement each other very well. |

I liked Paajarvi-Gagner-Yakupov. They seemed to have good chemistry, but they were kind of one dimensional.
I thought the Hall-Horcoff-Yakupov line at the end of last year after they shut down Nuge for the season was actually a good use of Horcoff, who despite his lack of scoring prowess is good defensively, knows how to get into good positions and is still fairly fast. Just let him win the faceoff and let the other two north-south guys take over.
In the long run, I feel like a beefed up Nuge could be a good fit for them, as he's smart and they're instinctive. Although if I could have anyone in the league (indicating the "optimal" fit), I might go:
Hall-Toews-Yakupov
Backes-Nuge-Eberle
As it stands, we're likely fixing to have Gagner in the Toews spot and a yet undiscovered mystery man on the 2nd line. |

Hall played with Yakupov for the last month and Yakupov scored the second most goals in the league for that month. |

Hainsey would be our best defender IMO. He's a big guy that can initiate a good break out. |
