People are really overvaluing Baertchi and I'm not sure why. The 5 games he played 2 years ago? He didn't look great for the Flames last year and he didn't tear it up in the AHL last year either. He's a good to great prospect. Sequin is an elite prospect who is already a more than capable NHLer buried on the deepest team in the NHL. He's head and shoulders above any prospect the Flames have including Brodie and Monahan. Seguin is a player you can build a team around and a package based around Baertchi and a first would be a major steal for the Flames.
Even though he had an off year he was still a 21 year old playing out of position on the 3rd line on pace for 25-30 goals in a full season. You don't have to worry though because the Flames really have nothing to offer the Bruins that wouldn't be completely in the Flames favor.

I know Seguin is a good player but to me he hasn't shown yet that he is a player you can build a team around. Sure he has put up some OK numbers...on a great team, surrounded by great players. But I don't think he has shown anyone he is anything like a Jonathan Toews. He could very likely come to the Flames and become a slightly above average center, not that franchise guy we would hope to be getting.
Baertschi has shown flashes in his limited time in the NHL sandwiched between an injury. But he put up 9 points in the last 7 games this past season and has shown he can contribute in the NHL.
More importantly next years first round pick will likely be very high, probably a top 3 pick. Is it a guarantee that Seguin > Baertschi + 2014 Top 3 Pick? I'd say if you are looking to build a solid franchise Baertschi + 2014 Top 3 Pick is far more valuable.
But I would think the Bruins might look to find some current help that fits their team to help them now. The two guys which come to mind are Glencross and Giordano. Not sure a package could be put together it depends what Chia Pet thinks of them, but with the Flames ability to eat some salary I think they could make a pretty enticing package.
