Via Twitter Feaster has confirmed they have talked to one UFA and will be in talks with another soon. Thoughts? Possibilities? - The-O-G

I agree those kids can play, but not at the level of a Giordano. He`s also better than Seidenberg and Boychuck. Also with losing Ference you don`t want to be too inexperienced back there. Plus like I said, if the Flames eat his salary I think the Bruins would be all over him. They need the cap space badly too, this trade could save them I think about 4 mil. - The-O-G
Feaster pulled those two (Glencross and Gio) aside at the deadline and said there's no way either of them are getting traded during the rebuild. Take it for what it's worth. |

That was then...
He said on draft day there's very few who are untouchable. 2 or 3 maybe, is what he said. |

Yeah I could see Filppula as a possible target as well. Would be better than Bozak IMO. |

Huddler Filppula Cammy (1st line, might need someone bigger on this line though) |

As long as we don't have to give up Baertschi, Brodie or a 1st I would look at it for sure.
Gaudreau, Backlund (or GlenX) and a 2nd. - whipper334
gauas much as I think gaudreau is going to be a st.louis 2.0, its a gamble. And seguin is less of a gamble.
At this point the team can't take a longshot (they have those covered with Janko and harrison....Which is fine). We need some for sure shots.
Let's just not lose any 2015 picks, I think they should stock up on 2015 1sts even if it means trading the 2014 1st |

You bet the B's know about Gaudreau. I don't care what the trolls from up north say, this kid has elite hockey skills, Backlund is a solid #2 or #3 centre whose possession numbers are one of the best on our team. He's also young. Anything more above those 2 is a huge overpayment. I wouldn't be happy about throwing a 2nd in there if Seguin wasn't a perfect fit for us. Having him on the third line in Boston is waste of the player & a waste of 5.75mill of cap & salary. Bruins are that strong of a team for that to be possible. - Kevin R
That's the thing, he doesn't have to be a fit, he is the core that has parts brought in to fit around him. |

For 3yrs at 3.5 then maybe. WIthout Kessel and/or Lupul I think Bozak is just a mediocre third liner. - whipper334
If he could be signed at those numbers he would have been already. |

If Boston were happy with Gio and Gaudreau I'd do it from a Flames perspective. I don't think they do it though. There are comparable defensemen available at similar cap hits that wouldn't cost them Seguin. - jtommyt
I could see BOS liking a trade with both Gio and especially GlenX. GlenX replaces Horton (albeit on the wrong side) and Gio gives BOS the ability to move Seidenberg for a bit of cap relief. Add in Gaudreau or preferably a 2nd rnd'r.
For those saying Gaudreau isn't a BOS type player, is/was Savard?
That's a lot to give up or 1 player even if it is a 21 yr old soon to be 1st line C. But given our timeline of things, it may sense for both teams. |

I would give him 3yrs 18mil. Why not. I'd even go 4 years 24mil. |

People are really overvaluing Baertchi and I'm not sure why. The 5 games he played 2 years ago? He didn't look great for the Flames last year and he didn't tear it up in the AHL last year either. He's a good to great prospect. Sequin is an elite prospect who is already a more than capable NHLer buried on the deepest team in the NHL. He's head and shoulders above any prospect the Flames have including Brodie and Monahan. Seguin is a player you can build a team around and a package based around Baertchi and a first would be a major steal for the Flames.
Even though he had an off year he was still a 21 year old playing out of position on the 3rd line on pace for 25-30 goals in a full season. You don't have to worry though because the Flames really have nothing to offer the Bruins that wouldn't be completely in the Flames favor. |

He's 21... And for the most part has played on the third line. - whipper334
Because he's played like a 3rd liner. |

Again, another Leaf fan leaving Hamilton out of the discussion when talking about the Kessel trade. Right now Kessel is a better offensive player than Seguin, but I would rather have both Seguin and Hamilton. - GSDIV
Why is Hamilton condidered a future Norris winner exactly? And why was Jared Knight-A fringe prospect given so much credit. These guys have been badly overrated.
If Kessel no-showed in the playoffs like Seguin, he'd be roasted for it. |

He was given chance adfter chance in the playoffs and bombed. |
