Yeah maybe Gaudreau and next years 1st gets it done...

You wonder if Philly been close to Boston that if we coughed up Gaudreau/Backlund & Butler for Coutts & Coburn? Sure would fit our needs, Coutts top centre, & Coburn could slot in our 3-4D, so we have Brodie/Gio, Wideman/Coburn & Cundari/SOB. Sven/Coutts/Cammi Hudler/Knight/Jones GlenX/Stajan/Stemps for our top 9. Doesn't sound that bad to me.

tough to say what Boston would want a package from you guys based on the Iginla snubbing, maybe its all water under the bridge bc it was all on Iggy, but Feaster was the one who accepted the trade

I'm not sure why people are hesitant about giving up Baertschi for Sequin. They're the same age while one is still a prospect and the other has shown he can be a number 1 center. Seguin is farther along in his development and still has more potential.

The Flames wont be as bad as people think and will be better than last year. Iginla was terrible last year as was Kipper and it wont be that hard to replace what they did. Look what Columbus was able to do last year by shipping off their star and focusing on a team game. I have confidence in Hartley's system and I they're starting to get players that fit. I'm not a crazy person who thinks they're going to compete for the cup but I expect them to be fighting for a playoff position.

Their pick may very well be a top 10 pick but I'd still give up the pick and Baertchi if that brought Seguin back but I don't think Seguin is actually available.

Seguin doesn't play center for the Bruins. He was given the chance this year for a couple games and it was a total disaster. I'm not saying he could never play center, I'm just saying he has proven nothing at the position.

Again, this trade for Kessel looks better n better with each passing day! People give seguin to much credit..hes just a big name, he hasn't done really anything special..Boston wants to trade him now while his value is high..even the Bruins gm can see that the contract extension he signed is not worth it...just my two cents

Tell that to the Bruins, who are desperately trying to trade him..im not saying hes bad at all, just saying he may not blossom into the player everyone thinks he will, and I think Boston can see that more than anyone.

I'm not saying he's a bust. I still think he's going to be a special player, and I'd love to have him here. I'm just not sure that he's drastically better than what we already have, especially at the cost being thrown around.

bruins fans are "Trying to trade him" it's just an option as they need cap releif. Not 1 real Bruins fan will be mad if Seguin isn't moved, and I dont think he will be.

This is just typical; Toronto fan Butt hurt that pours out to save face for the Kessel deal. Seguin is fine and after 3 yars in the NHL has better numbers than Kessel after 3 years of NHL play.

Have you noticed the centers Boston already has? The reason Hall, Ebs, etc are playing well is because they play top line minutes. Seguin has not been given that chance.

The Boston Bruins are by no means desperately trying to trade him...he had (one) off year and struggled a little in the playoffs...common people.

I will vomit if Bozak is signed

Seguin, otoh, is still worth pursuing, though I agree - if Calgary couldn't get a deal done revolving around the #6 overall (Boston wanted a top 10 pick +) I can't see them pulling it off now.

Yeah if they were "desperate" the trade would have already happened.

I think it would be. Business is business neither Chairelli's nor Feaster personal gripes should be involved. If a deal that is good for Boston concerning any one on the roster Chiarelli will make the deal.

Like I said previously...it was a message to Seguin, and nothing more. The only reason the Bruins move him is if some GM makes an offer they cant refuse.

And he's right, there is no evidence to suggest the Iggy thing was anyone's fault but Iggy's. the very fact Pittsburgh's offer was so much worse should prove it wasn't Feaster's choice.

When it comes to Seguin, do not give up Baertschi, Brodie, or Monahan, and do not give up the first round pick. Anything else is doable.

I was mistaken in a previous post about just how tight Bostons Cap situation will become after resigning both Rask and Bergeron, but things will still be tighter then they want it to be.

And as good a talent as Seguin may be, he isn't that for the Bruins because they simply do not that that spot available for him to play in. For him to be a center for them he it will be on the third line (behind Bergeron and Krecji). That is just how the team is built. That's not a bad thing as those two centers are great, but I doubt they want a 5+ million third line center. So why not trade him and get something helpful back for him. Get some cap breathing room that will allow them to go after other pieces (like a replacement for Horton for example).

I think that Backlund, Gaudreau, and next year's 2nd is a good and more than fair offer. Gaudreau is a prospect, and with any prospect there is an unknown factor. But that is how it is with trading prospects. If any team has scouted Gaudreau it would be Boston. The offer also provides "off the ice" aspects as well. But they make that offer, then tweak things from there. Maybe add a goaltender like Reto Barra. The Burins do not have a back up goalie currently (unless they think that Malcolm Subban is ready for that role).

Iginla earned his right to make that choice. Love or hate it and trust me I (frank)ing hate it. But he still a prolific player worthy of respect and he earned the right. He choose poorly. Should have chosen Chicago

How bout you wait a few more seasons to see how well Hamilton and Seguin really are before you start declaring the winner of this trade. A team that has gone to the cup finals twice in 4 years since this trade. I think Boston is the clear winner with what moves the have been able to do since this trade (example trade their own first rounder to obtain Horton since they already had your second overall pick)

lol save face eh.. good one.. I express my opinion and you take it upon yourself to take it so personal, enough that you have to respond the way you did..all im saying is hes not going to be the player everyone thought, your gm can see this, wether he says it or not.save cap space eh?? to resign a plug like jagr?? gimmee a break..don't get all personal, its not an attack on YOU, just my opinion.. jezz..

Again, another Leaf fan leaving Hamilton out of the discussion when talking about the Kessel trade. Right now Kessel is a better offensive player than Seguin, but I would rather have both Seguin and Hamilton.
