Does Couturier still live with Briere?

Here's the plan, we sign Briere, and then we get Couturier somehow.

GO!

I doubt they would trade him inter-division, but something like Hedberg, JJ+ could be a starter. Gives them a proven back up(and keeps him close to home) and their 3C to replace Couturier plus whatever else they might want

I'm sure they'd want D prospects which we could provide.

They'd probably be more likely to trade Schenn as he carries a bigger cap hit and they're in need of some cap relief BIG TIME.

Wow, looking at cap geek and it's crazy how much the Flyers are paying their D-guys...

after this season they are predicting the cap will go up a good amount

@FriedgeHNIC just said that teams think the cap may be as high as $80 million in the next three years.

most of that is bonus' though. They don't necessarily have to worry about it until the following year when the cap will go up. Schenn is also more of a proven commodity

Peter mueller is an option too. He could come relatively cheaper than a Horton

not much out there for santini (2nd round pick)

He certainly turns back into his own defensive zone while carrying the puck to be a Devil's defender.

He actually reminds me of Bogosian. Which is a pretty damn good thing!

@Ledger_NJDevils: Lamoriello repeated he'd like to keep Marek Zidlicky. "That's our intent. And he'd like to come back."

I don't know what is with me today for some reason I have been thinking Lou should be trying to shop Henrique around and he is one of my fav players. I have been thinking lately and for some reason today been considering the notion of trying to package him and a Urbom/Teddy package for Bobby Ryan or more recently Tyler Seguin both are fairly young especially Seguin and both are big time players with some room for improvement depending on which guy you guy for. They both are currently playing the wing and both have a scoring touch. The knock on Tyler lately is that he might not be the most mature person off the ice but is a very well rounded player already at 21 and Ryan seems to be a bit streaky but still usually pots 30 goals (something we could use ) and has size and speed to boot. The only thing I would think that would keep these deals from going through is that we don't have a first next year ( Henrique should be a good enough trade chip) and we don't need to go 3 years in a row without picking in the first round. What do you guys think? These are big time trades and I think we could land one of the two without giving up a crazy amount. Questions is ownership going to let Lou spend money? I think they will to an extent, he kinda showed that by opting to take on Cory's contract instead of a young forward on an entry level deal.

Frank off better be for 1 million and someone else better be on the way out. I would love to know what is going on in his head. I mean the guy has had an amazing track record with D and yet we are screwing around with Potentially one of the best we have had in a long time just doesn't make any sense to me. Also does he not have only tomorrow left to announce a buy out? he is running out of time for that he needs to sign Zid fast if that is his plan so he can buy out or trade Tallinder and Volchenkov.

Zidlicky was the number one reason we didn't make the playoffs last year. He's the worst first pairing defenseman in the league.

Let's reward that by bringing him back...

I bet you it's because he's Elias' friend or something. I just don't understand it.

I'd say he'd better be third pairing and only used on the 2nd pp unit, but even the core guys are going to be better than he is... they take less stupid penalties.

This defenseman situation is a nightmare for the guys in the minors. I feel sorry for them.

No matter who Clarkson signs with and for what, he'll still be the second worst contract of this FA season behind Zidlicky.

I agree but color me optimistic, I'd be very surprised if Elias doesn't come back regardless.
