Ovie was this year. Taylor Hall should have that second LW spot. |

Pietrangelo will need an offer sheet of like 7 years at 8million, and even then Blues might match - TBolts4
There is no "might" about it. Pietro isn't going anywhere |

He's good, but NOT worth that. We have other options we can explore anyways. - Artyukhin76
What? Pietro is one of the best if not the best young d-man in all of hockey. He's worth every penny he gets |

Rob Scuderi is still my first choice. 4 years 4.5-5 million for a whole lot of substance and dependability. Salo go after next season (possibly Aulie too as his contract is a "show me" contract) and Brewer the following year. |

Scuderi will get more than that in my opinion |

Not really. 5m tops. He not a huge point getter and he's 34. |

Not as much impact as Seth Jones would have had. The defense is below average at best and to pass on a prospect of Jones' magnitude ( in a position of desperate need) makes no sense. The offense is there we need D!!!!!!!!! |

If he didn't take any defensemen in the draft then it's a good bet that he's going to do something through trades of free agency. |

To bring in any free agent def worth his mettle is going to cost between 3.5 to 4 mil per. That will eat up a lot of cap space which the bolts don't have enough of to begin with. None of the free agents def are worth that. Not saying that Drouin is not a great talent. Just saying you don't pass on talent of Jones' caliber. They come along once in every ten yrs!!! Mr Yzerman made a mistake on this one. Did make a nice pick with his second round pick tho!!! What are you going to trade for a top 4-d |

Yes. - Michael_Stuart
Barry Ashbee wore #4 for Flyers. Kimmo Timonen has #44. #40 is a boring sweater number and I will not be buying a Flyers jersey ever. |

Drouin is the better prospect which is why the Bolts went that direction. Besides, like all young d-man it takes roughly 200 games to become "dependable" so Jones wouldn't be filling the "need" for at least 2 years |

The only way the offer sheet can work in your advantage is by doing so to a team in your conference. That way they either get stuck with a bad contract or you take away one of their great assets. And rarely do you trade within division so burning bridges is not such an issue. - TBolts4
Thought only the Flyers use offer sheets? Usually unsuccessfully. |

Bolts have plenty of cap space about 12 mil with Ohlund on LITR. |

Bolts have a top 5 system and arguably the deepest but for sure one of the deepest line of forward prospects in the NHL. Thanks for your scouting expertise but in this case I will side with the guys who have turned the Bolts system from bottom 5 to top 5 in their short tenure here in Tampa. Jones, while a very solid prospect, doesn't offer the same upside as Drouin (and that's my opinion and obviously the opinion of the Bolts brass since they drafted Drouin and not Jones).
Regarding cap space, the reason the Bolts bought Vinny out was for cap space, to the tune of $7.7M on top of what we had before. Cap is not an issue, espec moving forward as Salo and Brewer's contracts expire and our young guys (Stammer, Hedman) are already locked in with their big raises. |

So far only two have offered up their view of point production and a few on the lines for Drouin. I guess everyone didn't read the whole blog. |

He's has wicked potential to be a point (or better) per game play in the near future and has the ability to make it onto our top 6 maybe even top 3, but only because he will give Yzerman NO choice but to put him with Stamkos and St. Louis. Does that make you feel better? |

I didn't mean you. You stated plenty on lines rookie campaign I don't think he will be a point a game yet maybe in a year or two depending on like you said his line mates and playing time |

I truly believe that Yzerman and Cooper will not allow themselves to add pressure to Drouin, but I believe that this kid is going to turn ALOT of heads at training camp. Speaking of recent acquisition, you need to see the youtube Drew Olson video . This guy loves to hit, especially open-ice ! |
