Can't believe the speed the fire is coming at them...Holy poop.

No wonder why the SOPFEU can't do anything about it.

They've moved most of the people from Eastmain and Nemiscau to Val-d'Or. Won't be anything left for them to go back home to.

I think his last year in Buffalo I'd have called him a star player. 95 points is excellent. Otherwise, he's been a good player throughout his career but not a star.

Yup. They did just fine. He would have gotten more from NJ. People will be moving in the coming weeks as the team is rearanged for the start of the season. Likely moves are, Markov, Gorges, Plekanec, Desharnais, Gionta (doubt it) and unfortunately, some of our prospects.
- elcabong

Markov, Desharnais and Gorges and possible to be traded. So is Moen imo

question is, what would they be after? picks? prospects? roster players ?

i'd love to see Desharnais and Gorges traded. if for nothing more than picks. that is just not a smart allocation of $7.5 million...

All depends of your definition. A guy that makes the all-star team twice is pretty good.

point is, there's a difference between being a star and having been a star.
even if Briere was a star, he's not anymore. he's a 50ish point player nearing the end of his career.

You miss the point. Just because he was a superstar over his career doesnt make him more than decent second liner right now.

Gorges should be easy to move. If philly had salary cap space. I would see them being interested.

Hey you never know, Moen and Gorges for Talbot and Couturier ?

so when he was making 70-80 points it was normal for him to make 7M$

now we sign him at 4M$ and hope he makes around 50 points.
sounds fine to me

See how easy it is to get cap space. We've gone from 5M to 12.5M in the time it takes to sign on the dotted line.
