We are worse in terms of opportunity cost.

Alfie going anywhere else would be a bad move on his part. Even if he won the cup, he'd regret it. Ask Modano, Messier, and Sundin.

Ask Bourque.

He's still pissed about it.

oppertunity cost, we get a player who is considered a star in the league for 4M$ and he didnt cost any picks or prospects.

I find that is pretty damn good return

Just saw that the Jays little push-for-the-wildcard was short lived.

He's considered a star in the league????????

And he cost us $4M in cap space and a roster spot that could have gone to another player. For the same money or slightly more, (or less in some cases) you could sign Iginla, Clowe, Morrow, Jagr, Ryder, Gagne, Penner, etc...

Would have looked great in Briere's spot next to Galchenyuk and Eller.
- muffin_man

Wouldn't mind him neither. But Galchenyuk has to play center. And i would like the 3rd line to be meaner something like Prust-Eller-King/Larose

In retrospect:

We traded Cole for Brière and 500 000$ of cap hit relief.

Can't believe the speed the fire is coming at them...Holy poop.

No wonder why the SOPFEU can't do anything about it.

Yup. They did just fine. He would have gotten more from NJ. People will be moving in the coming weeks as the team is rearanged for the start of the season. Likely moves are, Markov, Gorges, Plekanec, Desharnais, Gionta (doubt it) and unfortunately, some of our prospects.
