It's not a turnover when you just float back to the defensive zone and watch the other team score...

Thought that was already DD's job.

After this year's talks and a norris win, he's not taking less than 7

Bealieu will improve. He wasn't an NHLer last season, how can he not improve? He's also a massive downgrade from MArkov at this point in their careers.

Markov is good, is he on the decline ? Subban can play 25+ minutes every night. Idealy a guy like Tinordi will play lightsout D 25+ minutes a night also within 2 years.
They could make a very nice top pairing

After that you have Emelin and Diaz who can contribute 20+ minutes a night and could make a solid combo

Gorges and Beaulieu to round out the bottom pairing at 15 minutes a night

Solid D imo

Ça me surprendrait qu'il se traîne les pieds par contre. Le gars était l'ennemi publique #1 de Montréal quand il a signé à Philly, je pense pas qu'il vienne ici pour en remettre...

Anyway, i would be damn fine with Brière, Galchenyuk and Eller down the middle.

We are amassing a roster of 3rd liners.

Better than the 4th liners of years past

not to mention Tinordi and Beaulieu are rookies yet he has them playing 20+ minutes a night in 2 seasons.

Gorges has had 2 consecutive subpar seasons. I don't see him being as good as he was before

Lots of talks of Clarksson, Clowe etc... but no one talks about Iginla.

Weird.

who is overreacting? the general reaction is "decent player, but why do we keep getting smaller up front?"

Well, this is alright. The whole "the nightmare continues" thing might be a tad too much, though.

And never once have I seen Morrow mentioned anywhere. I know he is over the hill but he is still a solid, gritty 3rd liner who will help someone.

doesn't make the team worse but does it make them better and plug any holes? not sure...

on the other hand, how funny will it be if Daniel Alfredsson signed in Detroit?

We are worse in terms of opportunity cost.

Alfie going anywhere else would be a bad move on his part. Even if he won the cup, he'd regret it. Ask Modano, Messier, and Sundin.

Would have looked great in Briere's spot next to Galchenyuk and Eller.
