Problem is champ, Bolland isn't available and Eller, well, he's on the team. Eller is only 24 years old and moving forward.
- elcabong

So keep him where he is having success. 2nd line center is too much to ask from him. Better of putting Galchenyuk as 2nd line centre. Eller stays on the 3rd.

He produced cause he was at the right place. When Bolland was asked if he thought he was a second line center, he responded that he could play it but was a bit of a stretch. He was more comfortable on the third. That is a person who knows his role. Bolland is better than Eller.

We'll never know unless we give him a chance won't we?

Mackinnon will start as a third line center for Colorado, should they leave him there if he's having success?

As someone else pointed out, it's mostly because players from our province will say stuff like "I would like nothing more than to play with the Habs" or "Of course i'd be very interested if Habs would call me" and then sign with someone else.

Even Vinny saying: "Wow I was very impressed by the Habs!" but signs with the Flyers.

Just shut the (frank) up and don't make it sound like it would have been special for you to play here, if it was, you wouldn't have signed elsewhere.

Makes sense, I think people would appreciate blunt truth over sugar coating of "how awesome it would be" and "it would be realizing a childhood dream" , "it's too bad it didn't work out" etc.

It's getting ridiculous. Just say: If the Habs offer me the best deal, i'll sign there. No bullpoop.

Um, so if Briere does sign here, it would make 2 in row for Eklund. So, I guess ... apocalypse?

I think they've all been quite patient answering your questions, despite the inciting tone. Is there anything else you want to know about booing that your parents didn't teach you?

You're right, they are the same class. Like saying Galchenyuk is a 3rd line type player.

Even that's not always the case. I remember hearing that Montreal offered more money to Briere 5 years ago, and he chose less money to sign in Philly. That's what felt like a real kick in the balls to a lot of people.

and if I have all the money I need I will accept to play for my hometown team, but that's just me. Vinny never wanted to come to Mtl.

right but when the blind squirrel finds 2 nuts in 15 minutes... you have to ask yourself if he truly is blind

you can't say that. you're a fan. Lecavalier stopped being a fan of the Habs probably 16 years ago. it's very, very rare that NHL players make decisions based on sentimentality. look at Alfredsson and his flirtation with Boston. i'm sure he's jsut doing it to squeeze an extra million out of Melnyk's fat ass, but even that isn't a cut and dry situation.

Eller is a 3rd line center who plays both end of the ice well. But he is better defensively. That is my logic. Can DD do the job on the 3rd line. No he can't! DD needs to play in an offensive role. Eller is a good 3rd liner. On a good team he is 3rd liner. The Habs (I hope) are trying to build a good team.

funny how none of the above answers actually answered the question... what is the reason Danny got booed for 5 years in Montreal?
- Flyers2821

The reason he gets booed is because he was telling the media how excited and how much fun it would be to play in Montreal. Then he used Gainey's interest in I'm to get the best deal possible elsewhere. His case is even a little different that usual because Gainey, a little pissed, came out afterwards and said the offer he had on table for Briere was more money than he accepted to play elsewhere. Now, I'm happy they didn't get him and I hope they still don't get him, but that's why he got booed.
