Neither one deserves big money right now. Harmonic is on his way but he is not worth 4 million plus right now.
- Vukota

I agree he's not worth huge money yet but when you say you're trying to sign them to long term deals these kids agents are going to ask for money. It's just common sense they are not going to get handcuffed to a long term at a low salary when both of them are on the upswing. JT was an anomoly, he should fire his agent.

IMO, the Isles should use their trade chips fr a goalie and top D man. They have a skilled offensive core as is, the back half is where they get in trouble. Use your strength to fill the negative. Go after a 1-2 year forward in FA until your kids are ready.
- brodydog29

I agree if they are going to trade then that's where it should go if they can't fill that void via free agency. Top 4 D and a goaltender are neccesities for this team.

I don't think they will lowball hamonic. I think he gets like a 5 year deal for a little under 20 mill

I think that's reasonable but depending on what he does on friday they have to straddle the floor. When that's your main focus salaries being fair are an after thought. If he does the right thing and brings in a legit starter that's going to make that balancing act even harder. I guess you didn't get the note saying you aren't allowed to disagree with me anymore?

Then again Hamonic might want to play closer to home since his dad who died over 10 years ago is divorcing hamonic's mom

Well you really got 2 options with them being RFA's. You either sign them to a bridge contract at a lower price with them becoming UFA's at the end and taking a chance of them not signing or you sign them to more money at a longer term.

I'd rather have Hamonic signed for a longer term cause with him you know he's already a solid top 4 guy. Whether he becomes a top 2 guy is hard to say but the potential is there and defencemen generally take longer to reach their potential.

Bailey I would expect a shorter term contract and see if he can finally find the consistency in his game and become that 2nd line player I think he could be.

goalie can be had without giving up too much......while that is top priority, it can be had. The isles need a rw for JT. The isles are gonna go with donovan and dehaan instead of trading for a dman

I agree with both of these things but I'm saying from an agent stand point if these guys sign long term deals at a low salary I'd think they were stupid. Less so for Bailey of course. That is why I pointed out Snow will surely low ball them. Not saying he shouldn't but I'm pretty certain he will

I can see Bailey getting lowballed cause of his consistency issues. I'm not so sure about Hamonic. I think he's too valuable to not give him a fair deal

First of all, I'd imagine Klein got to speak to Wang because he called the office and asked...just a guess. Second, as I said in the last blog, we need to spend at least $10m in actual dollars, after our own guys are signed- there's no BS this year, no way around it. Finally, it's got to be a buyer's market, in terms of trades. We should be able to get a player or two for less than usual, especially if several more name players are waived before Friday.

Haha. I love how DiPietro Sr thinks DP going to sign somewhere else. LOL

Talk about being dillusion. Enjoy the freebie 1.5MM Wang mistake going to give him forever, I wish i was as fortunate

Wouldnt it be great if Flyers signed DP. LOL.

I really don't see us getting anything other than a goalie. We will sign Hammer and Bailey. I am guessing Hammer gets his long term deal for around 3.5 ish.. and Bailey gets a short term "prove it" contract again. Then they will try to sign Clutterbuck who is also an RFA.. and your Forwards are done.

Defense Snow feels that Donovan, DeHaan and a few others deserve a shot to make the team. Unless a top pairing guy falls into our lap (cap casualty.. not going to happen). We are not pulling trigger....

The only sign I am waiting on ... and hopeful for is a goalie. Again we will probabbly get a Back up for a 2 mill 2 years like Nabby, TT, etc.... but if that doesn't work I would not be surprised to see us take Hedberg off Jersey's hands and roll with Poulin and Hedberg..

I listed forwards yesterday... here is what I think Defense looks like next year.

Hammer/A mack
Vis/ Strait
Donovan/Hickey
Carkner

long shots : DeHaan, Reinhardt, etc.

How did he manage that? Did he tie him to a chair? I'm just a little surprised. But the article has some great information in it.

Amazing what can happen when a reporter asks real questions. Ill bet he even went into the interview with real questions already written down to ask. Quite innovative!!

big difference between a UFA and an RFA. He will not get 4 mill a year.. no shot. Unless they let Wang do his favorite kind of contract.. I will give u 5 years for 22 mill if I can pay you 1 mill a year for the first 2 years.
