I feel like the -74 in two years had something to do with it.
- PhillySportsGuy

Connor McDavid is the likely #1 pick in 2015, and he posted a -24 last year. Even though he scored at a PPG pace. BAD team.

Here is a good article on him...

http://thehockeywriters.c...3-draft-prospect-profile/

He is an 18 year old and was only first year eligible in 2013. Can we even sign him or does he go back in the draft next year?

- TheGreat28

He can be signed, he's 18.

I asked Cordell about him, he likes the kid's talent level...The Otters were not a good team, in fact only the Ottawa 67s were worse in the whole OHL.

Good players on bad teams get drafted all the time. That sends up a serious red flag for me.

All the GM's know something that we don't.

For all I know the kid is an bumhole. But character concerns have been ignored before. Hell, Akim Aliu was drafted. So was Downie

Meh more likely to be a Colby Armstrong. Looks for big hits and can put up points but is very inconsistent in both facets. Just from what I've read.

Thats what I'm saying.

Side note question.... Are hockey teams subject to affirmative action? Like do they have to draft at least 1 minority per draft?

That's my point. They were both lacking in desirable character but were drafter nevertheless.

Aliu in the second round, Downie in the first.

This kid was shunned.

No i mean that hockeywriters.com had his nhl comparable player as Evander Kane and Chris Stewart. A 3rd/2nd line LW.

But those two also produced, Downie at a much higher rate than either of the other two. But Aliu was close to a PPG pace in his draft year. Harper simply didn't produce at that level.

We didn't this past draft... I mean unless you consider QCs a minority.
