Matt Read isn't exactly one of our young forwards.
- JAKEw1234

You're right, he is a bum and should be shown the pitch fork. Who does he think he is? Playing better then Simmonds on the international stage, being our best return on investment player on the team (even better then Giroux IMHO!), and not sucking at the shootout like everyone else. What a JERK!

Really, I think we should sign him ASAP to a 3-4 year deal if possible. Then evaluate next off season if he needs to go. As a signed player he would be worth more too. ASAP.

Yes they're thinking of just letting Jeff Reese play goaltender. What better way to teach than show in game how to do it.

You guys do realize that it is possible Leighton returns, right?
Like, there's a very real possibility.

Sorry, edited it. We don't know for sure if he's fully symptom free. And his history is worrisome.
- jmatchett383

Apparently he is. I would want him as the 7th though. He's still inexperienced and more likely to get another concussion

I don't want to. But at least one person on here, and several people on here during last season, were all on board.
- jmatchett383

No I mean when you called him a bust.

No chance. The Flyers had so much faith in him, they let him play one game

Been trying.

Can't get our price for Coburn. Can't give Mesz away.

- 77rams

I would take Mez over Hunwick or Zanon right now, we absorb more cap hit this season, and all the deals are down after this season.

Ek... dont tease me with the Bobby Ryan remarks alright? Now you have my mind going crazy!

MY BOLD TRADE PREDICTION!

Coburn/Read/Mezsaros/1st Round Pick for Bobby Ryan/Hiller/6th Round Pick lol ... I dont think we get any defense in return.

Their reasoning was that Bryz needed more playing time, and they wanted the best option in net for a shortened season.

WHat they say and what they mean are two different things. Clearly, this team had no confidence in Leighton

Well I'm hearing calls for trading that bust Couturier for one.
- jmatchett383

Who's calling Couturier a bust. I just think we have an over-flow of centers, and would move 1 for a current team need.

It's amazing to me how much this want for Bobby Ryan will never die. I wanted him as much as anyone. Local boy wanting to come home to play for the local team I totally buy into as a great story. I like Ryan and he might had made sense prior to the Lecavalier signing. With this said Lecavalier is a better all around player, even with the steps loss in age. He's bigger, more skilled, a winner and a leader moving forward. He's the perfect fit for is right now, so Bobby Ryan must now officially wait.
- dingo8urbaby

Bobby Ryan is not, and never was a local boy. Robert Stevenson is a local boy.

Created 2 holes to fill one and have a neat new shinny thing. I hop that doesn't happen. Plus if we have no #1 draft pick for next year I will be totally bummed since it is in Philly.

That's if he wants to return. He's our 7th forward. He probably wouldn't be on another team. He may want a team where he plays a bigger role. And I should hope he played better than Simmonds, he's 2 years older. I'm not saying he's bad, I'm saying this summer he's a very valuable trade piece.
