wouldnt her adjustable rates be pretty low in this low interest rate envoirnment?
- Briere

They just jumped up because of congress inability to come to an agreement. Also, Bernanke stopped buying as many MBS, which pushed interest rates up.

Coburn and read and cousins for kelfbom and mps
- griouxmvp2012

A guy like Klefbom in the organization would be nice, but if you're moving Coburn I think you need a real NHL guy back now, and it has to be a guy that's better IMO. Edler? Hard to make that deal work though since Vancouver seems to be about losing salary

Gerbe on waivers, he would be a perfect fit for Montreal.

You might consider this a place to talk hockey and not a place to rehash political polarization, since there are plenty of places on the web where that is the appropriate topic du jour. This is a place many of us come to get away from such things. The playground, so to speak.

And of course, you can always create a miscellaneous thread if you are so inclined.

A realistic, threatening Flyers roster looks like this to me....

Hartnell-Giroux-Voracek
B.Schenn-Lecavalier-Simmonds
Gagne-Coututier-Read
Rosehill-Talbot-Rinaldo

Timonen-Coburn
Streit-Schenn
Grossman-Gustafsson

Mason
Thomas

PERIOD!

I would substitute McGinn for Rosehill. And I'm not a Thomas fan, otherwise looks good to me.

@Real_ESPNLeBrun: Tom Gilbert, Carlo Colaiacovo and Keith Ballard, as expected, also on waivers for purpose of compliance buyouts

@TSNBobMcKenzie: NSH's Sergei Kostistyn also on unconditional waivers but it could be for mutually agreed to termination of contract as opposed to buyout.

from eric engels' blog today:

6) A lot of people are debating--moreover--abjectly criticizing the Flyers decision to give Lecavalier this deal. I've learned one thing about Paul Holmgren:

Don't judge any single deal he makes, because he's bound to make at least a few more before announcing that he's done.

Painfully obvious is the need for Philadelphia to add to their blueline and find a starting goalie to take the job out of Steve Mason's shaky hands.

Problem: No money.

The process to fix up the blueline will begin with trading Braydon Coburn out of town.

I don't want Thomas. The guy hasn't played. He's also not a very good teammate. I think he would be a disaster. I think the Flyers believe Mason can be a # 1. I think you are going to see a Moose Hedberg type as the backup. God forbid if it's Leighton again.

Can you imagine Colaiacovo in Philly? Someone would sneeze on him and he would contract Bird Flu.

Isn't every single goalie we've ever had been a disaster and a distraction?
