Pete I was looking at the list of Non qualified players and saw Ottawa let Caporusso walk, any thoughts?
Also according to the list Ferreiro wasn't qualified by Minnesota, why trade for him? - cranford93
they only agreed to take him because we were at the 50 contract limit and needed to send a guy their way. they traded falk for the pick only. we weren't gonna qualify ferreiro anyway. |

i don't think DZ is a player we just "dump" with a couple prospects for a solid LW. i think DZ, on his own, could warrant a player like blake wheeler (winnipeg isn't the ideal trading partner though), david perron (not sure if st. louis wants defense or offense for him), troy brouwer, or maybe even couturier. or if we throw in a 1st and a prospect, someone like pavelski.
only issue is that DZ is signed for a great value so we'll be even higher up against the cap with any deal unless they're willing to absorb salary or pyatt/powe's contract. - rangerdanger94
This would have to be part of the deal.
DZ, Pyatt, Fast are a starting point. St. Croix or a 1st round pick added in depending on the return. |

DZ + fast + 1st could get us a very good LW in my opinion. |

I really liked him at Michigan. He was good kid, and at the college level, he could score alot of goals. Don't think he has the skill set to be a very effective NHL player, however. He just seems like one of those kids who will Top at all college or juniors, be a very effective player at that level, but just can't make the jump.
I am hope I am wrong, because I really liked him at Michigan. |

See what I mean. Better to make sure he doesn't have anything left in the tank before you let him go. |

On the Kristo trade, the Rangers acquire yet another guy that can burn. Do you think the Rangers put a premium on skating? It seems like every guy they draft or trade for is a high end skater. |

yea unfortunately.
maybe sather can just throw pyatt and powe on waivers. someone has to claim them...right?!?!? |

The must, and its a good thing. Look at the Blackhawks, those guys can skate. Just wish a couple of these guys had a bit of that bumhole-chip in them. |

Cannot have Powe, Pyatt, and Boyle all on the team. It's a waste of roster spots. They need to pick one, and dump the other two. |

Like I said, keep Boyle, atleast he can do a couple things right. |

Kristo seems to have a lot of offensive talent...why would Montreal get rid of him right before he is about to turn pro? |

One thing is for sure,we've wanted another right handed defenseman and Blum and Weber were not qualified today, I'd take a flyer on either - cranford93
Ive always liked Blum, surprised he wasnt qualified. Think he would fit in in nicely on the 3rd pairing. Should come cheap. Come on Sather can you sign or trade for at least one player I'm interested in |

This is the same franchise that gave away Ryan McDonagh for Scott Gomez. |

Have faith, I am sure Sather and his staff are thinking like we are.
Albeit minor, they have made three trades in three days, I doubt they are done maneuvering. |

I'm keeping the faith, not pleased so far with what's gone on but its early. Hopefully he has some magic left in those cigars. |

I am completely ok with what is going on so far. They rounded out their coaching staff today, ok with keeping Richards too and these minor moves didn't make them worse than they were before.
I might be optimistic but I think they are going to make a significant trade this summer. |

seems like the consensus from montreal fans is that he has an attitude problem/parties too hard...but it evens out because thomas was known to have a really bad work ethic and didn't put too much effort in practices or on his own time to get better. |

More upside with Kristo, has big league skating and shooting ability.

Plus he has experience playing with Kreider and Step. Maybe that will help him out some here in NY. |

Have you seen the market this summer? It is downright pathetic, loaded with regrettable contracts waiting for them all. - MidnightMarauder
Since bickell has signed I have to agree. I'm off the FA bandwagon that I was completely on 100%. It is smart to just ride out the year and take some lumps if we have to. However, I wouldnt be opposed to a trade for a player like glencross. Someone with a good contract and is a need. For a DZ or someone, who has an equally good contract. Even salo would help the pp, maybe we could unload some deadweight for salos deadweight. But salo could actully helps us. In the end the safe bet could be to let AV work a year and then see who needs to stay or go based in his sentiments.

I would think they would go into the season with the roster pretty much as it is now with maybe Agnew minor changes and make a bigger trade during the season as some of the FA to be teams fall out of the race they may be had then |
