The Rangers need to become tougher and bigger. Clowe is exactly what this team needs. I felt they needed Clowe and someone else like him to he honest. Id rather buy out Richards now instead of having him for just 1 year and missing out on Clowe and maybe another talented player who was bought out. I really hate that he is going to be signing with someone else.

What a nice, creative deal by both clubs. Boston gets a bona fide goal scorer and Dallas gets a kid with tons of upside, who was asked to do too much to soon. Besides, after Chiarelli ripped Seguin in the Boston Globe the other day, he was a goner. NIce deal.

It is smart to not overspend on this mediocre free agent class but trade deadline day and free agent frenzy day are 2 of the best for us die hard hockey fans. A little depressing its gonna be quiet, even though it probably is the right move. Need to worry about are own players first

If Montreal winds up with Clowe and Prust or a division rival gets him I think ill just hang it up

Absolutely, not talking about overspending, but this team is flawed, and I'm floored that management doesn't see it. The 3rd and 4th lines are a mess, the 1st two lines can use a little help. A couple of very creative trades are needed in order to fix what's wrong, now that Richards is staying.
