Here's my take: DZ is not going anywhere. He's only been discussed because I think Sather wanted to hear if there is a lucrative offer for him. If not, his upside value is still too much to give away for a mid range player. DZ is a 1st round pick Dman that has led the league in various stats. He shown some up and downs in his progress, but that is the cost of developing an 18 year old dman in the Big league. Look at Cam Fowler, not exactly a top 10 dman in the league. DZ is still ahead of the curve in many ways, his mistakes just aren't hidden in the AHL because we're developing him up here.
Staal for Skinner? I would expect a conditional 1st round pick would be needed that would stipulate any relapse on his injury or anything related.
In all honesty, I am very happy with our roster the way it is. We should all remember that there will be a distinct system change, so as happy as we were coming into last season, we have improved over the course of the shortened year. If our defense contributes a little more in scoring, Richards improves even a little, and a full year of Brassard & Zuccarello, I really think we are in fine shape. We may tinker before the deadline to address anything missing for the playoffs, but all in all, we will be a formidable team as is.
And don't forget how dominating Nash was in the first few weeks before he was concussed by Lucic. He was never the same player after that. Nash played with complete confidence and really took over the ice every time he stepped on it. Then, he seemed to shy away a little, hesitated a little more, but still scored despite that. I'm fully expecting Nash to be full force next year, and given he's a creature of habit like Richards, Nash has had a full year to get accustomed to life in NYC. We all agree Nash wasn't playing at his peak last season and it was still good for a 75pt season pace (his highest). We could really see him explode under AV, wouldn't be surprised if he hit 80 or even 90pts next season. |

Love to read that, as long as the player he crushed isn't a legitimate prospect. - MidnightMarauder
I head Buchenivich (sp?) absolutely broke McIlraths ankles with a move on him.... that top 10 pick since the lockout looks better and better! |

Buchnevich is also a very talented offensive player though. Even the good ones get humiliated on occasion. |

Torts on ESPN Radio:
Boston was better than us. Anyone who doesn't think that is crazy.
I didn't play Kreider, they think I didn't play young kids. We played a ton of kids. |

Interesting Fact: Flyers have signed 6 players to 61 years for $374.5 mill since 07, none of them will be playing for them next season |

That's right. The Rangers didn't take advantage of their deep pockets to buy Richards out and subsequently sign another recently bought out player to a five-year, $22.5MM deal but the Rangers will be blamed for the inevitable next lockout. They signed Richards to a contract that they knew might come back to bite them and at least to this point are living with it.
Are people screaming at Philly right now? Maybe they are and I just don't hear them. But there's never a shortage of fans out there that love to point out Sathers UFA mistakes and tell us if it wasn't for Hank we're a lottery team.
Oh well, that's just the stuff we put up with as Rangers fans and I wouldn't change it for the world. |

Henirk is the one who makes the great passes, and Daniel scores the goals, and neither one is going to block any shots. |

Jeff Shultz could be an interesting option for our blue line. If Staal stays on LTIR, I wouldn't mind giving him a shot. He's only 27, and has some offensive ability. |

What is he going to do when only one is playing bad, staple both of their asses to the bench just to be safe? |
