I am sure the Rangers can sweeten the pot by throwing in a Pyatt type. Carolina is good for it, they think Sekera is a top four defenseman in this league. - MidnightMarauder
Staal powe and maybe a decent prospect for skinner |

Yea, the not so fun stuff. Had to come back for this week though, it's going to get crazy.
Already crazy in Philadelphia but that is nothing new. I love how the fans try to justify the Lecavalier singing. |

They need to grab a cheap guy who can help as a 6th/7th dman on the PP like Coliacovo or Babchuk, since they don't have much cap space. Or just trade DZ/St.Croix/1st for Yandle. |

Let's be realistic. This isn't going to happen before the season starts.
If you're the GM of any team, are you dealing anything significant for Staal before seeing him play at least a dozen games without issues from the eye injury?
Some of the GMs out there sure make boneheaded moves, are complete dumbasses at times, but I would think anyone with half a brain would be hesitant.
We can keep dreaming though. - synthetic150
I've been saying that aswell. Staal is to much of an unknown right now |

I am on board with that; extremely wary of Staal's ability to regain his top form. Have to strike now while there is still interest in him.
Leafs apparently are in on trying to acquire Staal too. |

Don't get me wrong, I love passing the time on a slow day at work reading/speculating on this stuff. |

He is but this weekend there was a supposed deal on the table with Toronto, for Staal. Teams are desperate, just look at what happened yesterday. |

Gotta be honest though...
Id rather trade MDZ + Pyatt for Ruutu... then Staal + Pyatt for Skinner
Reason being, Ruutu gives us that top line grit we want and he have the ability to score. Furthermore, we get to hold onto Staal and maintain the, arguably, best defense in hockey.
Ruutu, Stepan, Nash
Kreider, Richards, Callahan
Hagelin, Brassard, Miller
Jean/Powe, Boyle, Dorsett
Girardi, McDonagh
Moore, Staal
Stralman, Eminger/Falk |

I'd see if DZ/Miller/St.Croix could get Kane out of Winnipeg. |

I think DZ gets us more.

Yup that totally helps our cap situation.
Our dmen have such great valued contracts that we will lose out on the cap in any fair trade. |

have seen that from a few other places. Bob got 2/11 and Smith got 6/33, so is 8/56 out of the realm of possibility? |

Clarkson must be high on something. Bickell just anchored a Stanley Cup winning team. He took 4mil per year, at a likely discount. Chances are, Bickell could have got between 4.5m to 5m from another team. Clarkson hasnt anchored crap... he should be happy with a deal similar to Bickell's. |

DZ, a prospect and Pyatt for E. Kane would satisfying plenty. |

Nah, that package is good enough, if DZ has the value everyone here seems to think. |

If that is true expect Hank to make over eight million per season in his next deal. |

Not a chance youre getting Kane for DZ and a prospect AND having WPG do us a favor and eat Pyatt's contract.
DZ, Miller, St. Croix/Fast, Pyatt and a 1st round pick and MAYBE WPG will think about it. |

Bet you Clarkson gets five million per, without a doubt. |
