My first choice to backup Crawford is obviously Emery. But if we can't re-sign him and Raanta's not ready who is our best option?

Of all the teams mentioned about none give Ray a chance to win as much as Chicago and I doubt Philly can pay any more than we can. The Islanders could be an interesting destination for Emery.

Boy, I sure want to see Emory resigned. If you think about a cup run next year and a Craw injury, you want Raanta or anyone else from our current system backing Craw?

But on the flip side, I think there will be some quality goaltending available once the goalie musical chairs stops. Several buyouts, trades, all big names. Gotta be someone of quality that will be left without a chair when the music stops.

What about Hedberg? New Jersey will need to trade his contract now that they have Brodeur and Schneider. In sure Hedberg would come cheap and NJ may throw in another asset (ie Ryan Carter).

Yes. NJD put him on waivers this morning, too.

Apparently being close to bankruptcy and missing player payments can't stop Lou and NJD from signing Elias to 3 more years @ $16.5M.

Leddy's contract is worth $5.4M. He will make $2.7M next year.

Or now he gets to be a starter again and win a cup himself?! He's gone..... Time to look at backup options. Jason Labarbera anyone?

Trade call apparently underway for big Stars/Bruins deal. Seguin/Eriksson reportedly involved, among others. Eriksson waived his NTC a few hours ago.

EDIT: CapGeek.com reporting 2 years, $2.7M for Leddy.

The Bruins & Pens are in the same position the Hawks were after '10 season....all this $$$ wrapped up in what 7-8 guys and gonna try to throw scraps on the bottom 6 or 3rd pairing on the blue line. It won't work and they'll suffer for a few years like we did. The fact that Bruins are offering up Seguin to possible trade, and letting Horton, Kelly and I believe Pevs go to FA is nuts. Pens are funny too...Blank check for Sid, Evgeni, Letang, Neal, Dupuis and they're trying to bring back Inginla?!?! Bust out the traks boys.....there's open ice tryouts coming for the Steel City.

Dupuis at 3.25 million is literally a huge steal for the Pens. They may have overpaid Letang, but it almost makes up for it when you sign Dupuis for 3.25
