RFA. Has to be at least 25 with three years of pro experience to be a Class 6 UFA.
- Return of the Roar

Wow. I would have thought he would have signed a contract to bridge to UFA.

Official. Leddy and the Hawks have come to terms. Two year deal. Don't have the money yet.
- GoHawks63

I'm hearing its somewhere between the
$1 million and $10 million per season range.

But he will be arbitration eligible. A plus for him.

I am probably late with this but hockey writers have to be morons. Seriously, Ovechkin voted onto the first and second team? 2nd team LW? He played 4 phucking games at LW!

That would be with 95% confidence right? For the statisticians in the crowd (of which I am one).

He did win back-to-back Stanley Cups.

He's either a good-luck charm, or he's one helluva coach

Regardless of how it turns out Bowman did what was needed...

Both Bickell and Leddy deserved to be reisgned.

Leddy's term gives both options later.

Did Emery sign, or was there a hang-up?

LOL your perceptions and beliefs changed to suit the situation my friend.
- paulr

Hardly, for the record. I stood by CC when it was conventional wisdom to get the goalie to get you over the top.

I stood by the roster, stating numerous times it is the teams level of compete that will matter more than treating half the guys like fragile dolls. Felt the 24 game streak and record overall actually meant something.

Show me where my beliefs changed?

Yes, he is thinking, if someone could just foul one back off his head he could leave. It would be worth a shiner....

So Leddy signs for two years...just like P.K. did. Hmmmmmm. Hope we didn't play a dime over $2.5 m/year.

Totally agree. This has worked out very smoothly. According to plan.

I guess to be fair, many fans are still a little shell shocked from 2010 and feared the worst.

With the salary cap, and some close examination, it is not too hard to guess with relative certainty what most teams will do.

With those items settled. I still like the idea of adding a Matt Hendricks/Boyd Gordon for lower line duty.

Hendricks a little tougher, great in shoot out, has some speed and solid on draws/PK.

Gordon, more of a natural center, younger than Hendricks, not as tough, better on draws. Solid PK.

I guess adding another Dman, like a Rosi would be nice. I have not done enough research to determine a few fits.

Where do you see Victor going? My hunch is the swedish connection in Detroit. Have felt that way for a few months.

If they were playing the cubs, he would contemplate slamming his junk in a door jam, as that would be less painful then watching the game.

Who was it that said 2 years and PK subban deal here on the board for the past month? Who was the guys saying relax boys, dont sweat the offer sheet crap etc...?

My guess was 2.75 plus or minus 250....

A lot of future GM's including the 4th period saying it was close yesterday which it was not really...

Kuc reported they are negotiating....Never said close to a deal.

Starting today Emery's phone was ringing...

Because only 2 years I'm thinking less than $3 mill per.

Emery owes it to himself to find the best deal into the future to allow him to retire. It is all found money for him with that hip injury. I really hopes he can find a place to play. Not sure he would even want to risk being a 50 game a year starter. Nothing wrong with being Martin Biron in New York, I believe that is his name.

A ton of respect for Mr. Emery. Would love him back, but totally understand him doing what is best for him.

I went on record when Subban signed the deal back in January and said Marc Bergevins best move for Hawks and many other teams, is getting that deal done for 2 years. That bridge contract.

In the big picture it really is the best deal for players and teams.
