I can't stand Cooke. Yes, he's "reformed", but not "rehabilitated." All that means is he would lay a dirty hit on a guy in a second if he knew he could get away with it. I want guys who play hard, but play clean.

If thats the case....maybe Stan Bo missed the bus on trading him at the Draft. Maybe could've packaged him with either Bolly or Fro and possibly got a player, prospect or picks....guess we'll never know

I am hearing that it is unlikely we find out today or tonight where Danny signs but the list has narrowed from 8 to 4 or 5.

The favorites are Nashville, NJ, Boston, and Montreal...Chicago is still possible. However, Carolina, Toronto, and a San Jose are now showing interest...

Danny has way more options than Vinny because he is not looking for a 5 year deal. 1 or 2...possibly 3.

Yes no news by twelve noon means trouble....apparently. A contract can never be signed after high noon. If we had Tallon they would've had it done by 9.

The Hawks team is built on discipline. Not only does Cook have none he also has the Refs watching him like a Hawk (no pun intended). We don't need a sideshow, we need guys who play, play hard and don't hurt the team with dumb foolish penalties.

Cooke's PIMS the last two seasons have been 44 and 36.

Also, the Hawks weren't exactly angels during the Boston series when they took way more penalties, including ones that just were not needed.

Not saying Cooke is a god, but he adds a lot of grit and the dude can play.

They may find that the market for him is not quite as high as they thought. While there may be some GM dumb enough to offer him a deal in the $3.5 - $4.5 range, I think that as the days go on that possibility dwindles. His benching and lack of productivity in the playoffs may have changed the perception of his worth throughout the league.
