Folks, we all know who the perennial goal post mover is......it's ROR. Remember when he would grace us with his wisdom that the Hawks would never make it past the first round...then they did....then he predicted that it would be a 2nd round exit.......then the Hawks beat the Wings.....then he predicted there was no way the Hawks would be the Kings.....and then the Hawks beat the Kings......then the big bad Bruins of the Eastern Conference would show Hawk nation how a Stanley Cup team needs to be constructed.......then the Hawks won the Cup. Now those that are willing to give Bowman the FO SOME credit, because it's deserved, we are front office pumpers. I've never taken your criticism of the FO personal......I just find your posts amusing. I don't doubt your knowledge of the game and the insight you provide. However, if we are Bowman lovers or FO pumpers what does that make you in regards to Tallon.....his Lackey? I've been critical of Bowman for several things, not utilizing the money from the Campbell trade properly, giving all that money to Sharp, not being able to pull the trigger on several trade opportunities...but at the end of the day I also can't argue with the results......MCD is a DB and we all know that....hopefully he will retire soon.

He's a douche. Time for him to bring his cute little "Bowman Fail" avatar out again.

I thought Dylan Olsen looked really good in 2011-12 when he got the chance to play, I'd like the Hawks to give him a good look next season as well as Stanton or even Clendening. Re signing Roszival for another year would provide the Hawks with quality veteran depth on the blueline, but that may limit the opportunities for the young guys. I also feel Brookbank is crowding the lower part of the blueline and could or maybe should be let go. Lol

It will be interesting to see what Bowman elects to do.

- blackhawks64

Brookbank is your 7th dman so if everything stays the same he is not the worst option. He would probably play 25-35 games a year and won't have any affect on the success of the team. Stanton is probably in the best position of any defensive prospect to see time next year. Q has spoken highly of him and he has a nice game. Clendening should get one more year in the AHL and if Leddy is signed he will replace Oduya after next season. Olsen came to camp terribly out of shape and felt more or less entitled to a position. I wouldn't give up on him yet. He is still young and with his size he could be a force. He needs to improve his skating and his attitude and if he does....could help the hawks down the road.

its not a bad move....and could be the bridge player they are looking for...all depends on the money....
- UnnamedSource

I think it is a good strategy to look for a few bridge players who want to come here for a year or maybe 2 at most for great chance at Cup. Briere is talking a great game about only signing a cap-friendly deal to help the new team. And where he fits best for a chance at the Cup. He won't look for a Vinnie type deal

briere wants a 1-3 year contract from what I've seen.... and wants to stay near philly if possible.

What would you guys think if you read on other teams boards, them plugging in Toews, or Sharp or Keith or Shaw etc...?

My God Simmons is getting paid that money because the team values him. He is not for sale for any asinine trade idea.

I think if the Hawks want Briefe and Hendricks for 2nd and 4th line centers they can get that done
- mrpaulish

Always liked hendricks. A 4th line banger who can kill penalties, hit, and win faceoffs is all that would be left if we can sign a Briere. Roster would look good

Not enough money left unless Leddy gets signed real cheap. I seriously doubt they enter the season with under a million five in cap room

I'd rather see Ribeiro, but that ain't gonna happen. Krugs might well be a viable option if he hit the weight room and tried to put on 10 pounds of muscle over the summer.
- Q...argh

Ain't gonna happen over a six week summer. Though a year from now, through normal physical maturing, Kruger should be stronger.

Damn. I guess that takes Hawks out of it. I don't see them signing a 3-year deal. Plus the staying near philly thing. I still think we need to get a solid 2c in here. I don't really like zeus in that role for a whole season. Probably won't be back anyway

Any idea how the players feel about Dent? Wish they had a better player development guy in Rockford.
- tredbrta

I don't know how they feel about Dent. I'm not a big fan, and would rather have a more experienced bench boss in Rockford. For what its worth, Rockford had a hell of a run during their last three weeks of the season. That has to say something for Dent. If the team can actually make the playoffs next season, I think he stays. If not, I would have to think the organization might have to entertain a change in Rockford, depending on how far out of the race Rockford finishes.

It shows how much heart he has if he looks like a high schooler. Not the biggest guy, but gives a ton of effort and great positioning are keys to him playing as well as he has the last year. Krugs isn't a core guy, but a solid supporting piece. Too bad he doesn't have Stalberg size. The kid would be a beast.

I hope Olsen wises up then. If you want to play hockey for a living...you a) should be in shape year round and b) drop the 'tude ASAP, especially if you're the type that needs to work for everything you get...like Dylan.

I like him as well....and I think if he can change the perception people have of him there will be a spot for him. Needs to be a good soldier for the coaches and be a leader in the locker room. I like dynamic of Johns being on the squad and pushing Olsen....could be the best thing for him.

I did have a chance to meet him last year and got the vibe that he and Dent aren't cool....the kid bit his tongue and didn't bad mouth Dent, but it was obvious he wasn't happy about his lack of playing time.

He's a tall lad who i believe is fairly lean...so the bit about him being possibly out of shape was news.

Like to see him get a little meaner...he's a big kid and should play big.
