If we could make the playoffs with Bozak, we could do it again without Lecav. However, I agree. He alone could get us passed the first round.
But would you be willing to pay him 8M for 5 years?
That's my point. - UsernameUnknown
i dont think the price is that high... i think its between 5-6... and no one in their right mind would give him 5 years so... wait its NHL GMs... probably right |

I'd take Bozak over Turris anyday.
Spezza was injured and if he can't stay healthy they'll want other options.
Plus Ottawa has a boatload of cap space, along with an owner who's willing to spend money and make sure that Crappy Tire centre is full - AngryWhiteMale
Yeah its down between the East Canadian teams |

Thats an overpayment, maybe something smaller included like another prospect(blacker, finn, damigo, ashton, etc) or current roster player like a gunner or kulemin - Mapleleafs_91
I meant to say it's either Rielly or Gardiner plus a 1st round pick. I think they will ask for that. However, a fair offer would be Finn or Blacker and 1st rounder and maybe Kulemin. That way we keep Rielly and Gardiner. If Boston wants to get rid of him because of his play during the playoffs then hello Nonis give them a call. |

Yeah what a tit.
Just barely get under the cap when you factor in Pronger on the LTIR.
I bet Prongie's just milking one more year at 4.9m on the injured reserve, then calls it quits. He knows he's done - AngryWhiteMale
Why would he quit?
Quitting means no more pay cheques.
LTIR means full payment of contract. |

Exactly. We were talking earlier about Letang and how hard it would be to feed himself, possibly a girlfriend, perhaps a child and even a dog on anything less than 6.5 milly a year. - weirdoh

Jeff Schultz was placed on waivers, I think we should take a gamble on the a former 1st round guy thats 6'6 along with a veteran like ference scudwri or hainsey. Kris russel is on waivers as well, is he any good? - Mapleleafs_91
Leafs need a behemoth on defense but is Jeff Shultz any good?????? |

I actually dont mind overpaying vinny within reason on short term... the shorter the term the more im willing to give him per... quite honsetly if it was only 1 year id give him 7 just to have that big centre |

Doubt it, they want an elite prospect or elite player. Which would be either gardiner or rielly plus something smaller |

If Boston really wants to give up on a 2nd overall pick on a reasonable deal my question would be why - Zezel
Chiarelli said he wasn't being professional with his play during the playoffs and season. He was doing something they didn't ask him to do like crush and bang. He was trying to do too much and maybe got into Therrien's nerves and now they aren't happy? Just speculating on the last part. |

Bummer for PHI.
Use both buyouts and still pay Pronger...safe to say their cup window's closed.
It happens fast too. Two years ago, VAN, PHI, SJ, WSH were all supposed to be kings, and yet they've crashed and burned. |

Hearing Lecavalier could decide which #NHL he'll sign with as early as tonite. Told #Canadiens were in the final running but are now out.

I think we can give them either one of those 2 and Kulemin. We solve our 1C issues and still keep our other dman and next year's 1st round pick. |

Meh, Ottawa's one of maybe a couple darkhorse teams we're not considering.
It really is Leafs or Habs.
I'd reckon we need Vinny just to keep montreal from getting him |

That would give me pause. Leaf fans are all too familiar with the fact that lottery draft forwards in their pre-UFA years are the rarest commodities in hockey. If the Bruins want to get rid of one something is (frank)ed. |
