"It is a tale

Signifying nothing." - Shakespeare

Impressive, really. Nearly 400 years before the Internet existed, Shakespeare managed to categorize every conversation on it in 15 words. The man was a master.

Again, would you have sent Mike Richards back to juniors in 2005/2006?
- jmatchett383

Scott Laughton isn't even close to the same player as Richards.

Would you guys take a risk and sign dipetro for 1 mil for a year?
- Jack-Meoff

Nothing against the guy personally, but I wouldn't invite him to be our roller hockey goalie for free.

Max Talbot also played in the QMJHL. No a knock, but it's a traditionally offense-oriented league.

I saw him at my gym Memorial Day weekend. He was still hobbling and using crutches. His injured leg had really atrophied. He may be off crutches by now and said he would have to build the leg back, but would be ready for camp......really nice dude.

He's coming to my house tomorrow for the 4th of July party. I'll check him out then.

In Philly, he'd tear a rotator cuff opening the bench door.

Not saying he is. But Mike Richards spent his first year as a 4th line center. People are saying it's a waste to burn an ELC year for Laughton to play on the 4th line. Was it also a waste to do the same with Richards?

If we get Lecavalier, B. Schenn has to move at the wing.

Schenn - Giroux - Voracek

Hartnell - Lecavalier - Simmonds

Gagne - Couturier - Talbot

McGinn - Laughton - Rinaldo

*Switching left wingers on different line combos looking for chemistry

*Rosehill in when we play Pitt.

Kimmo - Schenn

Coburn- Streit

Gus - Grossman

Gervais

- Chris48

Fixed that for you

Yeah not using it the muscles vanish fast. 6 weeks on crutches and most muscles are gone in that leg. The good news is 3 - 4 months should put that muscle back on.
EDIT: I'm not a proffesional physical therapist who could give you a better timeframe, just a been there done that kind of thing..

What position has Lecavalier played the last couple of seasons? I am looking at his age and his point production, and I really don't think the terms mentioned here are wise.

Imo, the terms are flat out stupid. We did one deal with Streit... Gotta be enough with one?

I lean towards your opinion on Laughton, with respect to his 4th year of junior.

It's going to come down to whether or not Laviolette and company think the kid can contribute, regularly, over the course of an 82 game schedule.

I also think comparisons I've seen in these discussions to either Richards or Couturier are misguided. He's neither one of those guys from what I've read and he certainly doesn't have the junior hockey pedigree that either one of those players had.

If the kid can take pressure off of Giroux on draws and such, great. I'm all for keeping him around.

- johndewar

Now this is a reasonable middle ground. It's almost laughable to listen to all the Mike Richards comparisons. It isn't a lock for anyone to make the team out of camp but in the case of Laughton, if he does, of is a lock that he will see more responsibility. He never saw PK time at the NHL level l last season. He will if he makes the team this season and we will see how he looks.

Ok
Tim Thomas yea. Despite his personality he's a fantastic goalie.
Laughton should be playing. As long as we play McGinn over Rosehill on the 4th, our 4th line would actually be able to do alittle bit of scoring, play alittle bit of defense, and rough teams up ALOT. It'd be good imo.
Vinny L, yes. He still almost produces a pt/game, and he plays away from Stamkos and St. Louis on an underwhelming Tampa team. $5mil/3 or 2 years left isn't an untradeable contract, which people seem to forget. We'd be able to trade him if we felt we needed to. My concern is, does he play a physical game, or is he just 6'4? I honestly don't know that much about his game.

- JAKEw1234

what if vinny wants 5 years?

its too long for me

he is big but not physical, and reportedly he is slowing down

I don't want them to pick him out and then be forced to move one of the young centers.
