Very funny that three islander fans in a row posted pretty much the same exact thing - Cptmjl

Well we really don't have too much to go on as far as him trading but I think we overpayed a bit for Clutterbuck. I'm a big fan though so i'm not pissed but I think Nino is going to be good. |

We probably did overpay, but it was the best we could do to get a kid out of here that didn't want to be here. I'm not (and was never) as high on Nino as many. Liked him a lot, just wasn't sold as much as most. I think Clutterbuck is going to fit in very nicely. I'd imagine Snow will want to get him signed and locked up long(ish) term as soon as the goalie situation is resolved. |

He MUST do something. He only has RDP under contract. He has to resign Poulin and needs a starter. If he signs nobody, it's Nilsson and RDP. he will get someone. The question is who? - Jethro09
I play with some pretty good beer league goalies....I'll send a list to Garth. |

I agree. Clutterbuck is going to fit in nicely. Happy to have him here. It's just the usual fear of seeing Nino tear it up some place else. Of we can sneak in to the playoffs this year it's going to be nice to have another bruiser. Especially one that can score sometimes. |

Why? Not because of his political beliefs right? - Cptmjl
I guess since Thomas does not watch MSNBC or go along with 99.9% of the media he is a bad guy? |

I like to think of Garth Snow as a respectable man, if he goes anywhere near the wingnut known as Tim Thomas I will lose said respect. Anyone who signs Thomas has zero morals. The league did just fine without that nutjob employed. - PuckingOpinion
Nutjob goalies are usually the best goalies.
Not sure how Billy Smith would have handled the White House invite back in the day. If Reagan playfully tried to "slip one by" Billy, the secret service would have been scorned for letting the prez get assaulted in his own house.
I don't care about the politics or beliefs of the players. So long as they don't abuse children or animals, I'm open to alot. Can he play is the only question of concern. Someone will pick him up. |

Exactly right. The guy won a Cup and can stop the puck. That is all that matters. Isles should sign Thomas just to piss off the media. |

I'm glad we would be able to come to an agreement, but I still think it's up to the GM's |

Having the number 1 and 2 hitters in the league is going to be pretty awesome. The fact that these guys do it cleanly for the most part is that much better. Love that kind of hockey - Cptmjl
