unfortunately by keeping nino on the 4th line his first year to add his ELC as salary towards the cap, they shot themselves in the foot. Nino's value dropped, and the isles are now left with a top 5 pick who's value is now half of what it should have been - kindlyrick
they didnt want Nino's salary & the player they wanted they felt wouldn't be there at 15... just because our deal was better doesnt mean it was the best fit for the Kings.
Hell the Oilers deal was better then both offers.

They would look splendid on JT's wing and believe it or not it might even sound like a good idea to them? - Cptmjl
James Neal -JT- Strome, Isles #1 line?
Pascal Dupris - Nelson- Clutterbuck #2 line
Bailey - Nielsen - KO #3 line
Martin - CC - Macdonald- #4 line
One can dream cant one? |

I just want to say that today is probably the best day ever to be an Islander fan. We finally get rid of the albatross named DP. I am speechless and the tears are flowing with happiness. Good Riddance!!!!!! For this one act alone I am now a true blue Wang and Snow fan and will NEVER EVER criticize them for any moves they make.
LETS GO ISLANDERS!!!!!!!!!! - kasperrko
What about moves they DONT make?

LOL I think he would do well here, I am also in favor of Dupuis and or Neal. Even though I heard Neal has some nagging injuries - kasperrko
I wasnt aware of that.
I doubt we trade for him anyway but he would look pretty good on JT's wing (if healthy) along with Strome. |

Storme
Use trade chips towards a goalie...I don't see the Horton's or Briere's signing with this team....another good season and over to Brooklyn and we will start getting some UFA talent. - Nolanders
Strome hasn't played an NHL game in his life, he's 20 years old and people just want to hand him a spot on the top line? Come on. That reeks of desperation. It also increases the kid's chances of being overwhelmed, playing out of his natural position in such a prominent and important role.
Lets give Strome a chance to play in training camp and get some serious contenders for a top line RW spot before we annoint Strome the first line RW. |

How would these two look in Islander Blue and Orange?
Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports that the Penguins will likely trade forward James Neal. Neal is owed $5 million in each of the five seasons, as he’s signed through 2017-18.
THIS N' THAT
Speaking of the Penguins, they'll likely have to let left wing Pascal Dupuis go to free agency and there's plenty of talk they'll move winger James Neal before all is said and done. - SCLI
I would love to land Neal. Problem is, at what cost? What would Pitt want for him. To trade Neal to a divisional opponent, the price is going to be sky high. |

How about Moulson and Grabner and a mid rd draft pick?
Moulson may score 45 playing with Sidney.

Not that I loved Wang And Snow. This a different level though. You know how I felt about Ricky D. This is one of the biggest bright spots in Islander history!! |
