If by chance they sign briere then this ain't a bad lineup by any stretch - Isles316
Storme
Use trade chips towards a goalie...I don't see the Horton's or Briere's signing with this team....another good season and over to Brooklyn and we will start getting some UFA talent. |

I'm liking Strome on 1st line..... - Nolanders
It may be a great fit with JT but I wonder if they will just slot him there or make him earn his stripes( )? |

I can see Briere possibly but not Horton. His salary demands are to high anyway. Briere might be good with the kids? Still has some gas in the tank and is a PROVEN playoff performer. |

He is for sure one of the guys I think of that has always hurt us....Briere, Weiss, Malone, Dupuis come to mind...wouldn't be upset to have him here. |

I dont like Hortons history of injury. Especially since he's asking for $6 mill plus.
Briere wants to play on the east coast. The closer to home the better and he wont be asking for an unreasonable contract. In his case it seems that Location is a motivating factor.
I'd take a chance on him. |

Anyone else getting SLIGHTLY worried that the Isles won't get a decent starter? |

IMO he's best suited in a 3rd line roll but this guy won't hurt you regardless of where he's slotted in.
I like the pick up also.
As much as I think everyone would love to see Cal Casey and Matt as a 4th line unit. I think Cal's mins would be limited in that roll. @ Minn he averaged around 14 mins per game. Our 4th line never gets that much TOI.
We didnt trade Nino for a return of 6-7 minutes of ice time IMO - SCLI
I bet he is slotted for the 2nd or 3rd line. He will be getting 18-20 minutes a night on the Isles. |

Nope. The more options that dry up, the fewer options for Nabby. He remains a fallback. If the Flyers truly do go after Thomas, the Isles can consider a trade for Miller or someone like Jose Theodore. All's well and the free agency period is going to be VERY interesting.

How would these two look in Islander Blue and Orange?
Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports that the Penguins will likely trade forward James Neal. Neal is owed $5 million in each of the five seasons, as he’s signed through 2017-18.
THIS N' THAT
Speaking of the Penguins, they'll likely have to let left wing Pascal Dupuis go to free agency and there's plenty of talk they'll move winger James Neal before all is said and done. |

They would look splendid on JT's wing and believe it or not it might even sound like a good idea to them? |

This I would believe. As long as "assistant GM" means playing basketball with Charles' grandson, it's all good. He's going to get $1.5M a year for a long time.....might as well do something.
Here's the thing the DPologists need to understand- no one hates HIM. We hate the fact that he was a SH*T goaltender, and he was allowed to BE a sh*t goaltender for FAR too long. That's not even remotely HIS fault, by the way. Allowing someone to play because he "wanted" to is symbolic of the myriad reasons this organization was cr*p for a LONG TIME. That's what his buyout represents- what is hopefully the end of THAT, and that is why we are happy. It's a simple concept.... - dcb1
No, that's false... there is a lot of hatred toward the man.
