Chances of getting an NHL ready kid in the middle of the first round are slim. If we continue to grow and have success as an organization, get used to drafting kids that are going to take a few years to see get a shot. - eichiefs9
I can get used to continued success and waiting on these kids. Will not be a problem. |

The whole Neil Smith thing still bothers me. I know I should forget it. Neil was wrong to take the job when he knew it was a committee setup though. Still hurt the team big time. - ses111
He probably had no concept of just how crazy it was in Islander country? Can't blame the guy |

Absolutely but he's got to help this team when it needs it. He can't leave these kids out to dry without adding to this line up. Why do you think nobody wants to come here? Hopefully we see something different this season? I'm still trying to keep the faith... |

All I can say is that I want Snow to be wise and not rush into anything drastic to make a deal that hurts us in the future. Do we really want Ryan Miller? We recalled that he had a concussion and his abilities has declined slightly. Hiller is good but does he really scare anyone? I want a goalie that can help us in a long time until Nilson is ready to shine. I think Poulin isn't a starter material. I love that we have a difficult time to decide who we would put on our lineup offensively. Finally!!!
Bailey JT ???? Brierre? Ryan??? Horton??? Vanek???
Moulson Nelson Grabner
Strome Nielsen Okposo
Martin Cizikas Clutterback
Mcdonald???
We could make a trade to make room
Moulson and first pick round for Hiller

I'm sure he had no idea what he was really walking into. He probably heard committee and thought Wang was just crazy and would forget it. I loved the idea of Smith being an ex Ranger GM and coming to the Isles and turning them around. Smith was an original Isles so it would have been that much sweeter. |

I would not give up a ton of Miller. I would have no problem adding Hiller.

I would not give up a lot for Miller. I would have no problem adding Hiller. I would also not have a problem trading Moulson. Especially if we can add an FA forward. |

Me too. That guy wanted to win. Who cares what the reason was? I was pumped when he was given the job. I'll never forget when he was fires and Snow was hired. I honestly felt like someone punched me in the stomach. Reality set in real quick. This made it clear to the hockey world that Wang was nuts. |

I loved the Smith hiring. I was at work and my dad called me whe he got fired. It did feel like I got punched. Things were not going well at work at the time and it was a one two punch. |

I hated his hiring, danced when he was fired, scratched my head when Garth got the job.

Doesn't FA period start on the 5th? How can the Flyers sign Vinny L before then?

Moulson and a first for Hiller? Thats way to much. Moulson is our second leading scorer. Has had 30+ goals except for this season which he still had 15 in 47g and finished in the top 25 in scoring. Id say a better trade would be Franz a frist and a third. |

He's a buyout. No team owned his rights, just like we signed that college goalie |

The more I think about it, okposo should start back on the first line with JT. That will also put Grabner back on the second line where he belongs.
Moulson- JT- Okposo
Bailey- Nielson- Grabner
Martin- Cizikas- Clutterbuck
Joensuu - Nelson- McDonald
Also this line up starts only one rookie. ( which is where we need to be IMO)
It also give Strome time on the bridge. I prefer him at the centre position. In time strome 2nd line centre and Nelson the 3rd. |

I know we would all love Horton to be on JTs wing this year but iv been thinking how Clarkson would look on that wing. Would give JT all the protection he needs plus the potential of putting up some major points. Who would even want to play this team with Clarkson, Martin and Clutterbuck. No matter what lines out there they have to fear getting rocked by one of them. I think he would be a perfect fit for this team and its identity. Thoughts? |

Hiller is a top notch goalie- probably top ten in the league. I can pretty much guarantee that you can put A LOT of players on JT's wing who, if they have any talent at all, could pot thirty, no problem. I'd likely trade anyone short of Tavares straight up for Hiller right now (not everyone, mind you...but one of them? probably), and Moulson without any hesitation whatsoever. I just can't imagine them dumping him at this point, but if they need to, I'd be glad to welcome him to the team. |

Here's the good news for Islanders fans: there is no Tim Thomas this year, and we are like $13-15M under the cap floor. Unless anyone thinks that Hamonic and Bailey are going to get $8M per each, we HAVE TO acquire someone. There's no "we tried" BS this year- with Ricky gone, that simply isn't possible. They are going to have to acquire at least two players who Wang is going to HAVE TO pay actual dollars, and likely three, considering the likelihood of one of the true top end guys signing here as a UFA is probably nil (and should be- those guys are NEVER worth it...ahem....Brad Richards..). These next couple of weeks should be interesting, at the very least. |

This FA season should not be boring for the Isles. That is for sure. |
