Islanders extend qualifying offers to forwards Josh Bailey, Brett Gallant, David Ullstrom, defensemen Travis Hamonic, Thomas Hickey and goaltender Kevin Poulin.

I think DP definitely will sign on with another team. Now whether he sees the NHL or not is a whole different story. It wouldn't shock me if someone like Buffalo or even Boston signed him to the league minimum and tested him out on their minor league team. Unfortunately for Rick, his skills are eroded to the point that he'll never be NHL caliber again. At 31, that's a damn sin.

No I am serious no DP and I am on an elite level in life. How can I not praise those two? I wonder if I can get a poster of Garth and Wang and hang it in my living room? - kasperrko
Maybe you can wait for Charles @ Dunkin Donuts and buy him a dozen! |

Yeah, wasn't trying to ridicule you for sources believe me but I mix up what's really rumored with what 3 guys say on here on any given day all the time. I have said the same thing about Strome and got the same response on here. Some say because of the defensive demands of the position? Whatever, if that were the case there'd be no centers in the NHL, stupid. The kid is a center and whether people on here like it or not he may very well wind up being our 2nd line center? I for one wouldn't have a problem with it. If he's a winger I'm fine with that too but having Taveras, Strome, Nelson, Cizikas as our centers is a nice thought. - Cptmjl
No problem here Capt.
That has always been my stance. Strome would be our#2 center for many many yrs to come. I have NEVER posted an Islander lineup on here. Ever. I usually look at the ones that fans post and shake my head in disbelief so I dont do it myself. Unfortunately the one & only time I do. I flip a bit and put Strome on a line with JT & I get called called out as being DESPERATE. (Ridiculous)
So many guys on here just cant wait to jump down your throat over nothing. It's sad. |

I'm betting on him not seeing NHL ice again. I'd be happy for the guy if I'm wrong but the thought of jmo16 filling X's location with a paragraph all his own is too good to pass up. |

Thank the heavens, no Aucoin, Joensue, Boyes Wishard and Reasoner on that list. - SCLI
I was actually impressed with Joensuu. I thought his game would've started producing eventually the way he was playing. |

I just gave you Neal on the 1st line! I have no problem bringing in another Star but I didnt want to get to crazy.
It was my impressions from nearly everything Ive read that Strome was being groomed to play on JT wing!
NO?
Besides, its one of my fantasy lineups. Did you read where I said ONE Can DREAM? We'll never see it in reality. But I dont see why Strome cant start his NHL career on the top line. Better then putting him on the 4th line!
I dont get your uproar at all.
- SCLI
I thought I was responding to Nolanders' post, a post that was put up before your response to me?
As far as I know, Strome is a center. He's played center his entire career. He was likely drafted to be our 2nd line center behind JT. I don't want them to throw Strome on the RW spot of the 1st line just because "there's nobody else better to put there". They rushed Bailey and Nino and look what happened with both of them.
FWIW, I think Strome starts in Bridgeport, gets about 1/2 season down there and if he's killing it, gets promoted. That's especially true if the Isles sign vets like Briere and/or Horton, etc. to fill the first line RW and second line C spots. |

I agree. I bet a team signs him to a one year, two-way deal with the idea that he eases the burden on some team's top goaltending prospect in the "A" by playing a few games. |
