How does 'east coast' narrow it down to those teams? - robin_steele264

The ones that interviewed him is my guess. - LeafMan
To easy..... I suspect he's talking about how come it doesn't include the likes of the rags or flyers. But concidering they don't have the capspace to get it done, I think that list is pretty accurate |

Carolina is precluded too because, well, they have two Staals. There's NJ, but why would Vinny go there. Buffalo----but I can't see him going there either. Doesn't leave much else does it? |

David Poile said he talked with Lecavalier, but Lecavalier would prefer to be on the east coast. - LeafMan
this is a time zone question for him without a doubt.
he clearly isn't moving his family, so playing in a city that allows him to get to Florida easily will be paramount - realistically that eliminates everyone west of Detroit.
my guess is that teams like the Rangers, Bruins, Flyers simply could not add any significant CAP hit to their situations... and the question is then would Vinny want to go to the Islanders, the Devils or Buffalo. Washinton might be interesting.. but you wonder if the ego/personality would fit with Ovie. That leaves Montreal, Detroit, Toronto and Columbus. |

Hate Ribeiro all you want, he produces offense. - mykokes
had this argument about a week ago... please tell me in what universe has Mike Ribeiro been a #1 center on a successful team? with his gleaming point totals, how far has he "lead" any team in the playoffs?
are his knees and elbows worn out from all the diving and falling?
please answer the questions in any order you like. |

17 points in 18 playoff games for Dallas in 07-08. Lead the team in regular season points and playoff points.
Not a great argument even if he didn't have that great season though imo. One player can only do so much. |

I don't remember seeing any highlights of him doing this in Washington. And I'd say the 2007/2008 Dallas Star team did alright with him. I'm not arguing with you at all whether he can lead a team to the playoffs, I'm just saying for a guy with multiple 70 points seasons and an 80 point season, coming off a ppg season, he sure does take a lot of flak. 609 points in 785 gp is much more than we've gotten from our centres post sundin.
There are lots of players I hated over the years, that have changed my opinion on them as they've hit their 30s. Marc Savard comes to mind. |
