Mississauga is easily the minor hockey area of the century.

Matt Stajan, Brad Boyes...JASON SPEZZA!

Clarkson is more established and more constant. If Bickell gets 4 how does Clarkson get less than 4?? I think he's 5 at least and Horton is said to be looking for 6.

Clarkson really hasnt done all that much outside of ONE 30 goal season

Naw, I still think 5 for 5 is as high as it gets for him.

Even at that rate, I do't want the Leafs going down that road. Toronto still has expensive, gaping holes to fill on that team.

If he gets 5...then its a max deal I bet

Lou Lam's won't give him that. You see that evil smirk of his after the Schneider deal? He's a cold calculating killer.

Well he was huge in the Stanley cup playoffs...which led to his team winning the cup.

So ya!
He performed at the right time.

He's overpaid as well though

just a few days for some players to cash in their lottery as free agency is set to start at high noon on Friday.

Vinny would be high on my list of UFAs to sign.

Morning everyone.

I don't know a ton of Gauthier, but on paper it looks pretty good. Took some time to watch some pre draft analysis of him and sounds like we got a steal at 21.

anyone actually seen him play?

judging a player from NJ based on their offensive output is like judging a car's speed after racing it with a trunk full of bricks

general question - what does everything think it would take to sign LeCavalier?

5M x 3?
5.5M x 2?
or could he be had for less?
or could a one year deal that lets him return to the Bolts (for less of course) be one.. (this would of course be an under the table deal)...

there's certainly an element of truth to that...

the opposite holds true as well... where players score in offensive systems - and then their stats drop off when they are placed in structured defensive systems.

I'm curious to see how the Sedins "perform" under Tortorella.

And I'm dying to know what the over/under is for the number of games until Torts calls out Kesler for diving.

5-5.5 for 5 was the consensus.
my guess for two would be around 6-6.5

just youtube videos for me...

but one thing I found particularly interesting.. he had the broken jaw and missed a number of games. the broken jaw would no doubt would have affected his eating and at that size and youth, he no doubt would be affected from an energy perspective.... so good on him for i) more or less playing consistently through that ii) not being a total zero offensively

his results in the u18 were pretty impressive, apparently he was voted/selected as best forward for the Canadians.

might be a gem.

I like the analogy, but Parise, Kovalchuk, and Elias have managed to do OK there...

St. Vinny choosing Toronto over Montreal?

Il est inconcevable, c'est une trahison pur, tabarnak!

He wouldn't dare.

what i like about clarkson isnt necessarily his offense.. its the space he would create and his responsibility and intangibles.

i also fakepartofme is right when he says that it would be a mistake to pverpay him

which is fair.. but lets take elias for example

in all those years that he has played for them he only has 4 - 30+ goal seasons

imagine what he would of done playing in a more open offensive structure
