The Leafs have won the last 3 years. That counts for something even if Seguin/Hamilton offers more value one day.

... and now Boston has Seguin available, and a GM publicly criticizing him in the media. Seguin had a VERY disappointing playoffs, and honestly could have been the difference between Boston Losing or winning the cup had he played up to expectations, especially after Bergeron was injured.

Seguin has never had to play against Chara.

Kessel was top 10 scoring the last couple seasons.

Hamilton is going to have to carry a huge part of that side of the debate if this keeps up.

I know NHL GM's are insane, but I can really only imagine Holmgren, Feaster or Sather doing something like that ... and I don't think Holmgren or Sather could do that kind of contract even if they wanted to.

Edmonton could, but I don't know how they deal with it in a few years when their 10 untouchable players all need new deals.

I doubt Nonis does any sort of deal like this, thank God.

Naw, I still think 5 for 5 is as high as it gets for him.

Even at that rate, I do't want the Leafs going down that road. Toronto still has expensive, gaping holes to fill on that team.
