My suggestion is no where close to that. My suggestion is until someone comes in and keeps Kessels production where it is or greater then Bozak should be the guy. - honesthockey
Bolland trade seems to suggest they think Kadri is the guy. unless they move Grabo, Bozaks not getting signed. Wouldn't make sense. |

Not necessarily a bad idea but doesn't that create a chicken or the egg scenario?
It'll be hard for anyone to prove they can do a better job in that slot if we never slot anyone else in there for any decent amount of time. |

And my point is that with Kadri (hell even McClement), Kessel would have the same production or better.
I know, I know - you will respond with "show me your crystal ball proving that"......Like anyone can ever argue that point. Hell, maybe Kessel doesn't do any better, or even worst, with Crosby as his center. Where is that damn crystal ball? |

Crystal Ball - honesthockey
i don't think it's to crystal ballish to suggest that a more offensively talented center than bozak would result in more points for kessel.
it's perspective, no different than your perspective that kessel is somehow dependent on bozak with regards to his offensive production, because he's the only center kessel has played with for any consistent amount of time over the last few seasons. |

well, seriouly, if he gets hurt and has to play a game or two down there, i'd feel bad for Cooshie or is Joel if that forces them into an alt account
Truthfully, while I disagree with you HH on things, I rather it just be a case that should Gardiner work out you simply admit you were wrong and vice versa should you be right about him, I'd man up. Hell, I saw enough guys on here change their tune in regards to Kadri. We're a fan base that has seen a lot of poop go wrong. Its understandable that we're hesitant to buy into something. That's probably what makes me laugh the most, is when a fan from another team says "oh, you're a leaf fan, you're stupid." Fact is, most of us are a negative bunch. Like seriously, who here actually thought the Leafs were going to win game 7? It probably wasn't until the score was 4-1, that we actually let ourselves believe it. And then the second they scored to make it 4-2....I guarantee everyone here was like oh poop. We're Leaf fans, we're used to disapointment and expecting the worst. - mykokes
I've already said I'd admit if I was wrong on Gardiner but it wasn't enough. I can just see the peewee mistakes in his game. Free Gardiner put a bee in my bonet as well. People forget this http://www.theglobeandmai...gardiner/article10567593/
Believe me it will happen again. |

My whole point is the Leafs first line works. Yet we always start there and forget we a had Kadri plus no one else scoring behind line one but lets change it first. (frank)ing stupid. - honesthockey
16 assists.
His wingers scored 38 goals.
1st line works in spite of Bozak, not because of him.
That said. Move Grabo, I'm fine keeping Bozak for 3.5m, Kadri playing 2C. |

There are a million factors that come into play. There is a reason he's been the only Kessel center yet no one wants to see it. Wilson did. Carlyle did.

Yup, and I caught that too. It was good enough for me man. You said it the other day too when I posted the story where Carlyle said a lot of good things about Gardiner. Anyways folks, its midnight, gotta get my beauty sleep. Try not to get banned you (frank)s. |

The thing is that I don't have a hate-on for Bozak. But Bozak is not going to get any better and he isn't going to elevate Kessel's game either (with Bozak, Kessel would have to do that totally on his own). Kadri is already a better option as 1C and I think that Grabo would actually be a better option at 2C......I also think that Bozak would be a terrific 3C. But when people start supporting the status quo when we already have a better option.....Guys like Bozak get nailed undeservedly because he is playing on the wrong line. I would be VERY happy to have Bozak as the Leafs 3C - but not for anything North of 3.75Mill.

but it's all perspective, not facts. your perspective is that carlyle used him out of want, others is that it was out of necessity. your perspective is that he got the most icetime he must be amazing, not that he played the top line, and got extra minutes killing penalties. etc.
the issue, and the reason you come off so wrong at people, is you refuse to have respect for the idea that people may have differing perspectives and opinions, and it doesn't make them wrong and you right, and vice versa.
it doesn't give you the right to speak to everyone with a different opinion like they're a complete moron who can't see the light like you. your perspective tends to historically be that of the minority. that's closest to a fact. |

Then why did the Leafs just sign Bolland if they believe so much in Bozak? |

Would like to address the Centre ice position in FA:
Targets (in order of what id like leafs to do)
1) Vinny
2) Ribeiro
3) Keep Grabo (AKA nothing, Look at other options, other positions)
4) Resign Bozak
5) Briere, Weiss, or Filppula (Don't really want any of them, though MAYBE Briere could be a fit.)
Would really like Vinny or Ribeiro in Toronto, hopefully the price isn't too high. Suspect it may be though. |

With the trade of Bolland you have to think that unless #1 happens (haven't heard anything about Ribeiro) or another trade goes down then # 4 and 5 are not going to happen. Kadri, Grabovski, Bolland, McClement/Colborne.
