5 yrs $5m per would likely get it done for the Leafs , and though pricey they need to do it.

Do agree $6m is way to much..

- Big_Lightnin

i'm not going to say he's overpaid at 5, but the term is a big gamble in my opinion.

anyone losing their marbles at grabovski's contract should be really scared of clarkson signing for anything more than 3.

his career has been to spotty. take his season and a half away and he's cal clutterbuck. anyone willing to give clutterbuck 5 mil/5 years?

yeah, the 50 point Stajan got us Phaneuf and Aulie. Are did that go above your head?
- mykokes

Yep Stajan straight up got us Phaneuf (whom everyone but me wants him gone) and an Aulie who is where?

And goals for and against at a 6:1 ratio. Pretty accurate.
- honesthockey

The numbers were consistent for every year the two played on the same team. You can't refute that. Just admit you might be wrong. You probably are.

Bolland means no rom for Bozak unless Garbo is moved.
- Big_Lightnin

Agreed.....and done! At least Bozak is versatile enough to play on the first line, if there was an injury. We need good depth players that can do many jobs. Bozak is better then Grabo, in that regard.

They are doing the right thing. Drafting for future need. By the time Gauthier is ready, it should be near the end of Bolland. We already have Rielly in the pipeline and a year from now, we'll be talking about him making the big team. With Finn, Percy and Blacker developing, we have some good 2nd tier defensemen, to go with our blue chip prospect Rielly. I only wish that we had a few more offensive forward prospects coming through the system, but that may come, in time. It wouldn't hurt to add a goaltending prospect, maybe next year.
- PrinceLH

well with sparks, and now this bibeau kid (seems like he will have the #1 job next year, they are probably hoping he can do the same that sparks did) i think we are doing ok. it would be nice to have a high end offensive prospect. we will have to see what happens next year.

Yeah I agree, I wish Bozak had gotten hurt sooner. Then Kessel might've even contended for the Art Ross the way he clicked with Kadri and Grabo.

If it wasn't his last season and a half I'd agree but he's been spot on the last two seasons.

Sure, I'll take Clarkson, for about 4.5 million a year. He gets his nose dirty and doesn't mind going to the blue paint. We need more forwards like him. It completes two solid top 6 lines, if we get a decent number 1 center. Our third line could be one hell of a third line, if we start moving some of the middling talent downwards.....Kulimen?

I want to keep him, but reduce his minutes and give him a good solid defensive partner. Ference would be perfect!

Yes it is and I hope they do it! We still have to round out the other bottom 6 lines and make sure that we have quality and not just muscle. We can keep both of our tough guys, for certain games, but we need some better checkers, against finesse teams.

can't invest term in small sample periods . it's pretty much how bad contracts were invented. it means more in a cap era.

Refusing to admit that the numbers indicate Kessel actually does better away from bozak just because kessel is currently forced to endure 60 minutes with Bozak for every ten minutes he plays with everyone else?

Take away the season where he had no training time cause he broke his leg the year before and had to heal and rehab all summer, and his goal trajectory is a lot like Kessel's

Just saying, can twist it a couple ways.

17g as a sophomore playing 12mins a game
23g pace season 3 till he broke his leg.
1 down year
30g
25 g pace

What's spotty again?

yeah, +1 for that one.

allright. clarkson minus his last season and a half is your 3rd/4th line pest/goon with skating ability. not enough to gamble a 5 year + contract on for me.

And you have zero numbers to indicate anything, just you being smarter than everyone. You're not even trying to have an even discussion. You're boring.

I'd agree if it was one season but it wasn't. I'd also agree if it was two or three seasons ago but it wasn't. His style also comes into play. He would look great in a Leaf uniform.
