Hate the old faceoff arguement... A guy that is 47% and a guy that is 52% is really only a difference of one faceoff per game... Give me the 47% faceoff man that can go cause a turnover get the puck back and do something with it....

Kadri proved it in the playoffs so I guess he should continue to get a chance until he proves he cannot do it....

Also Kessel's jump in points came with the addition of Lupul and JVR.....

If anyone thinks Bozak had anything to do with Kessel production, they're clearly blind, deaf and dumb.

He may have had something to do with Kessel's production but I don't feel like he had much of a positive impact and the stats seem to suggest I may be correct.

The main worry I have with letting Bozak go is that it may upset the balance the Leafs have with the rest of their lines. The 2nd line with Kadri is a hell of a lot better than the 2nd line with Grabo or whoever else they might slide into that spot.

Daeth, that's the most compelling, logical post in this thread, and if people try to ignore those facts, they're either really stubborn, or incapable.

The myth of Tyler Bozak and Phil Kessel's chemistry indeed!

so using that logic, kessel should be paired with grabo

2011-13

With Grabo

GF per 20: 1.704
GA per 20: 0.852

Without Grabo

GF per 20: 0.983
GA per 20: 1.014

would you honestly rather have kessel with grabo or bozak? cause if hes playing with grabo, kessel isn't getting the puck lol

2012-2013

With Kadri

GA per 20: 0.921

Without Kadri

Haha yeah. Seems odd.

If Bozak can't be signed for a reasonable price I think it's at least worth trying though. Don't you?

How would we know? We've never seen it over a long period of time have we? This despite some posters like myself asking for it.

Rather than buy Grabo out, why not try it, and if it doesn't work then move him. I've said this all along......unless Phil and Grabo really do hate each other or something.

Aren't the other samples small? The only time Kessel gets away from Bozak is when he is double shifted to the 4th line, or pps.

What's the even strength numbers look like?

Those are all even strength numbers.

And yeah, the other samples are small.

Kessel from 2012 to 2013

617:29 with Bozak recorded in those stats. 128:48 without.

The key to all those stats to me is how kessel does with and without bozak. If the numbers are better without bozak, then who cares about the sample sizes.
