Are we still in the window for compliance buyouts? I thought they had to be announced before the draft?
Or am I wrong and it's just before FA?

The latter.

normally i'd have the same reservations there but a lot of the talk really made it seem as if a couple pf teams were coming to the flyers about coburn, not that the flyers were looking to dump him

which is more flattering to him

- Don'tForgetTocchet

I guess Coburn's situation is a better spot to be in then where Luongo is today.

And apparently Pronger has not even watched tape of him although he was in the draft meetings and at the draft table

5.5 - 6M seems to be the going rate for perceived #1 goalies.

What do you think Rask is going to get?

Bob certainly had a fabulous half season.
It's a bit risky, but at least only 2 years.

I think there was a real chance he was going to the KHL if Columbus tried to play hardball with him.

- Marc D

Rask is going to be in the 6 range too. Tough year to be handing out 6 mil contracts.

No, Pronger said he didn't see Morin live, but watched quite a bit of video on him and liked what he saw

Was Simon Nolet the scout most responsible for the Morin pick?

Pronger's a part-time pro scout, not part of the amateur scouting group.

Andre Beaulieu, Jack McIlhargey, Al Hill and Simon Nolet round out the staff with Flyers legend Bill Barber helping out as a consultant.

Ever see the video where the hot water evaporates because it's so cold? That's cool.

Holmgren said yesterday that both Hearty and Nolet scouted Morin. Nolet doesn't travel throughout the season the way he used to but he still scouts selected players and has input in draft picks.

thanks.
makes me feel a little bit more warm and fuzzy about this pick.

..so... what, potentially, was Homer discussing with the Oilers ??

Does anyone know how Coburn's modified NTC is "modified" as to the specifics?

Does he have a certain number of teams where it is acceptable to be traded, or something else?

GM Paul Holmgren doesn't believe that the Flyers jumped the gun by selecting Samuel Morin with the 11th overall pick in the 2013 draft."Samuel has come a long way in a short period of time," Holmgren said. "He's ultracompetitive. He skates well. He's got great range, obviously. Pretty good understanding of the game. And his puck skills have gotten so much better in not a long period of time. I think he's a very good prospect. He's got a chance to really blossom over the next year or two." The 6-foot-6 defenseman currently weighs 210 pounds but he would like to get to 230 or 240 before he turns pro. He was a fast riser up the charts of the 2013 draft and his physical nature could place him in good standing with the Flyers.

Not sure but he may have the reverse - a list of X number teams to whom he cannot be traded without his agreement.

I guess I was surprised a bit that EDM and CAR are on his approved list.

Not really the glamor locations of the NHL.

The way I read it he updates a list of teams he doesn't want to go. He hasn't touched it since last July.
