Yeap Flyers are looking pretty good future wise when it comes to d-men even though we might have to wait a while.

The Vinny thing is interesting. I read on twitter he wants to go to a pressure free market. To me that kind of lessens MTL and TOR where hed be the guy. If he came here itd be like Forsberg to some degree. I know I was just happy to have him on the team, he competed hard and you knew he was giving his all. I think Vinny would be the same thing, already established player brought in to help develop the younger players.

So if reports are true then that leaves Dallas, ANA, and DET. Money wise I think we would offer more than all of them, because thats what we do.

I think we do have as good a shot as anyone. AND if we do get Vinny, lookout, other moves will be made because you acquire a solid #2, and maybe can move some pieces for a top winger or young Dman.

I'm ok with that, and it's certainly a lot better than having nothing to look forward to.

I'm hoping Gus and Lauridsen bridge the gap and start the trend this upcoming season of defensive prospects pleasantly surprising us Flyers fans.

I'd be ok with Vinny. I'd be ok with Thomas or Emery to tandem with Mason. I hope we re-sign Gagne. I'd be ok with Stalberg. Any interest in Ballard if we do deal Coburn? Bump Grossmann up with Streit, Ballard/Gus?

And/or both. We wold probably see the moves of Coburn, Cooter, Read and maybe Cousins for people like Yandle and Ryan. Maybe even sign another dman is Mezzy is moved. Sign thomas and Gags....be interesting...

I think Read may get traded, rather than risk losing him as a UFA next summer

I could see a Coburn, read for Eberle type trade.

Need a pick coming back too. Coburn is worth Eberle alone in my silly book

I think Eberle might actually have more value but I may feel that way because I really like the kid. Also not saying that would be the exact deal but that could be the blue print of it.

Vinny allows them to do a lot of things imo. I hope it happens, Vinny signing that is, moving the kids is something Im not ready to commit to yet

actually no. dmen are expensive. especially ones that are signed to a cap friendly deal, eat a lot of minutes, can play in all situations, can move the puck and are entering their prime

Eberle is a RW, don't we already have 2 of those?

We also have 4 centers but that hasn't stopped the Vinny talks now has it?

I don't see Bobby Ryan on this team before he becomes a UFA. Too many quality UFAs that only cost $$ and not human resources.

Well I think the fact that they met with him and likey made an offer continues to fuel the talks?

Getting Lecavalier instantly changes everything. The Hype Machine goes into over-drive, and with good reason. You have to assume he's not feeling to great about, for all intents and purposes, getting cut, and you hope that means he has a great big chip on his shoulder with something to prove this upcoming season.

You also have to assume Gags gets resigned. I don't think there's any way we get Vinny and Gags isn't brought back. It's not impossible of course, but doesn't make a lot of sense. And if those 2 can stay healthy, in addition to better performances from Couts, B Schenn, G and Harts, we are suddenly a very dangerous offensive team, especially with Streit and Mason helping to push the puck out of our zone and up the ice before the other team can really get settled.

I really enjoy imagining this deal going down.

Luckily for us BSchenn is more natural of a winger. Or as I just said, BSchenn + for Evander Kane

You're missing the point, just because we have X amount of players in that position already, doesn't mean we won't add another if are high on the person.

Cloutier mentioned Coburn for Smid + a prospect, such as Marincin. We'd save 1mil in cap space, get a player 1 year younger, AND another solid defensive prospect in that deal.

Thoughts?
