Devils also extended Zubrus, so good for them. Still, is Schneider going to a better team in the Devils than he was on in Vancouver?

Clutterbuck is a good grit player, but I'm not sure he's going to push the Isles into a top 4 in the East ranking.

Unless Jarry plays this upcoming season, which he won't, the Pens are stuck with Flower for a while longer unless they make some trades.

It will be interesting to see what the Rangers become w/out Torts.

I like Clutterbuck. He'll definitely help NYI and we'll be hating him soon enough.

I do think the Devils made a nice trade (considering the market), but I'm starting to think that the second best spot to be in sports, after being the backup QB, is to be the backup goalie. Does everyone know whether or not Cory Schnieder can carry the load by himself? Not even Uncle Lou knows that.

I feel like some people are just playing "defender". "Flyers know best." Guess what... Sometimes they don't, and yesterdays draft was frustrating. Even Bill seems like he is holding back. The whole "dont want to judge until.." To me that is, I dont like it now, but only time will tell....

Jesus, could you imagine all the moronic negativity if the Flyers actually sucked, rather than being one of the more successful teams in the NHL over the past decade.

Yes, being reasonable and optimistic is obviously drinking Kool-Aid or being a spin doctor...so what is being a negative clown who constantly bashes the team for everything?

Oh, yeah. Tiresome and pointless.

I didn't say it was the worst draft, I only think Pulock was better for our needs. As I just posted, The rumor was the Flyers wanted K. Sattenkirk, well they could have drafted him in R. Pulock and Pulock is bigger and meaner.
- bushhunter

You can't project Pulock as Shattenkirk. Shattenkirk is not only a point producer but a top pairing dman. He matches up against the best forwards. Pulock is very far from being anywhere near Shattenkirk

Nobody knows how these kids are going to develop. But most of us put more faith in the Flyers scouts who actually watch these kids play year after year as opposed to people who poster on this or any other message board.

Good points.

Devils got their goalie. Although they may be kicking themselves after passing on a chance to draft Nichushkin and Horvat. Time will tell.

Shedding Nino's 2.8 mill salary and a player who obviously wasnt happy on the Isle while adding Clutterbuck who hits, blocks shots, and has some offensive upside and played with Tavares is a big plus. They will sign him to a reasonable contract which will most likely be around half of Nino's cap hit.

Agreed. I've always like Clutterbuck as well.

I think the Devils made a very good move because there's no doubt Marty is very near the end, and taking a shot on Schneider is well worth the $4 million for 2 more years if they find their guy.

Again, 38 yrs and counting. What do you see the Flyers doing right to win a cup. You need skill, not just being huge and tough. Pulock shows great open ice hits. PP quarterback. Cannon shot, and he is the captain of his team.
- bushhunter

In the 38 years since, they have been to the finals 6x, CF 3x and missed the playoffs 7x (5 straight, mostly under Jay S)........ill take "their" way

Nah, I'm good thanks. Ryan is gonna come here as soon as he hits free agency in like 2 years, no point in giving assets for a non essential piece. Also no point in signing Ference, Gus is ready to play top 6. No point in signing Stalberg when we can sign Gagne for $2 mil and not only fill a team need, but keep a familiar face around. Emery, meh. He won't do well here. I'd rather give an asset to get Halak then sign Emery. Plus, that's an unrealistic amount of money to sign Emery. I think he'll get $3 mil on the open market. Vinny is not signing here for $4.5... It's gonna be atleast 5. I suggested 6 for 1 year, but apparently he's already received an offer from another team for 6 for multiple years, so my idea won't even work.

It's funny, the one thing that's not really up for debate is that the Flyers are without parallel when it comes to consistently making the right calls in the 1st-round.

i think Pullock will be good. seems like a fired up leader type. and i also think, like you said, he'll have an impact with the isles sooner than Morin will with the Flyers.

I just believe Morin is just scratching the surface of his potential and im glad they picked him.

I wasn't wrong. Horvat would have been a completely awful pick for the Flyers, and I would have only taken him if I traded down and he was still there. He just wasn't what the Flyers needed. I saw him going 12-14, He went earlier, but my point was it was and AWEFUL pick for the Flyers.

Don't get me wrong, Pulock was my #1 want from this draft. But Homer said they were going to pick the BAP. If they chose Morin over Pulock, and they had been following Morin intensively this past year, then they probably know something you don't. I'd stop complaining about how awful it is that they chose Morin over Pulock, and start trying to look at the bright side, which is that Morin could be a real hidden gem in this draft and could blow Pulock out of the water when they're both in the NHL.
