Soo....

Flash/Barkov/Huberdeau
?/?/Versteeg maybe Shore? Bjugstad? Mueller? Free agent?
Kopecky/Goc/Bergenheim Matthias?
Butler/Shore/Upshall

Campbell/Kulikov
Guds/Petrovic
Weaver/Kuba

?
Markstrom
?

Not sure if Robak makes it on D. We have some RFA's to sign, including Markstrom but I think we obviously sign him. Who knows if we bring back Mueller, Skille or Matthias.

Too be honest, I like the bottom six. There's a good defensive/offensive mix. We know Kopecky, Goc, and Bergenheim can score. Butler can score a good 10-15 goals and Shore is a lock for a few. That 4th line will give ya 100% every shift. I am assuming Jovo goes on LTIR. Goaltending... yeah I'm not touching that mess. But I feel like with Weavs and Kuba on the last years of their contracts, we will see a much bigger/faster defensive unit in 2014-2015 that includes Robak and maybe Matheson!

I feel as needs we need a #2 center, a few solid wingers, a veteran goaltender, and a veteran defenseman. Also, I think Howden and Bjugstad will start the season in the AHL. Robak and Petrovic may switch spots, it's going to depend on how they do in camp.

Assigning Grades to team based on Entry Draft Selections

Before you e-mail or PM me angered by my disrespect and misjudgment of your favorite team's choice, let me one make it clear concerning this specific draft: All team GMs and fans could say how they did great. Or how poorly they did. Because of the depth this draft class at the first four tiers (See Draft Tier explanations elsewhere on DraftSite…),this draft class, from pick 1 to pick 211, may bring major contributors and impact players to many NHL teams. Whether they admit it or not, NHL teams hope that the high character youngster they select not only graduate to the pro game, but develop into high impact stars, no matter which slotting there are chosen in. This draft provides MANY chances of unearth those type players.

My grades will be based NOT on the amount of picks, but on the possibility of the drafted prospects making contributions on NHL rosters FIVE years from now.
I will start by saying the upside of this class is by far one of the finest, but I and NHL teams cannot accurate predict NHL success for them at this juncture, just draw on my opinions of the player's canvass at this particular juncture in the journey.

Of, course I will bump up grades for team where they took my favorites, or prospects are clearly ahead of the curve towards NHL long term advancement and domination. Value in the players picked and where they are picked will also be key factors.
At first glance, I like a lot of team boards.

Grade A

Dale Tallon's seven selections became eight and started early in the festivities when he took Sash Barkov who I think is a great fit. Big centres like this are very difficult to come by,and despite the gifts of both Jones and Drouin, the draft is about what fits needs when the players all grade out pretty equal. After this pick I thought Tallon did well by starting in the 2nd round with selecting players that are also excellent longer term developmental fits. Big McCoshen has considerable upside and is a big skilled two-way defender who plays to his size with strong physicality in the front and on the wall. He will begin his development at Boston College. Big Crowley is goalie you can wait for as a backup plan seven years down to road if you next future one,Jacob Markstom doesn't pan out as a NHL quality backstopped. Tallon didn't stop there. Taking a second big dee-man in Downing he gets another big quality defender who shows physicality, a quick stick, long reach, mobility, and skill. Although he is even a bot further away, Buckles has show he can score although there are things to iron out. After Barkov, Clapperton may be the closest to vying for a chance, since he is a bit older and a veteran of multiple tournament challenges. Joshua Brown is a giant DT is hoping gets feet and net presence, while Weegar has shown he has strong offensive ability and an excellent point shot, but isn't large ,strong and physical. Despite that, Tallon gets A for taking players with enormous upsides at every tier of the draft, without reaching at players toward draft player to re-shape them.

Oh I'm sorry.. and what exactly have the Flyers done the last 20 years? Any Cup wins? No? Alrighty then, go away. Oh, and don't give me and crap about making the playoffs a few times or winning the East.. we've even done that. Albeit one Eastern conference title and four playoff appearances. The fact remains, no one remembers that, it's about winning the cup. And besides, I'm surprised you haven't bought out Morin yet.

well to be able to buyout players YOU need to actually have a respectable team where players want to go

Uh no you just need to have retarded and bloated contracts like Briere's was and like Bryz's contract was. We should be buying out Upshall in my opinion, but we aren't. So tell me, you see the Flyers being a better team than us next season?

You were barely better than a team who lost 290 man games to injury. Yes, pat yourself on the back.

Uhhh most of your injuries came from the blue line, sir. How many games did Giroux miss? Voracek? Coots? Briere and Hartnall missed only a few. We lost Weiss, Versteeg, Bergenheim, Upshall, Theodore, Weaver, Kulikov, and Jovo all for extended time. In fact.. Weiss, Versteeg, and Bergenheim were lost for the season and Jovo had no business playing at all.

What I'm saying is, all the guys you lost were easily replaceable. The guys we lost were the heart of the team that got us to the playoffs the year before.

You wonder why every fan in this league who doesn't support the Flyers hates Flyers fans? You're just rude. And I'm guessing you're about 17 years old, and cannot fathom that you guys haven't been relevant for 38 years.

You can say we "need" to be moved all you want, but it'll never happen.

Flyers are pretty much relevant every year. Just sayin. Their owner does not care about blowing money on a (supposed to be) winning team.

That's just it.. they're blowing the money. They have no defense or goaltender.

If you guys picked Drouin ahead of Tampa, they probably would go for Jones IMO. Barkov was all set to become a Predator...funny how things work.

- Orpik44

I agree. There were rumors we would pick Barkov due to our need at 2C, but we need a top 4 D pretty badly too. We knew Drouin was our guy all along, too skilled to be passed up. Could be our future Marty. We more than likely would have taken Jones if Florida drafted Drouin, I agree with you!
